THE WHITE HOUSE WELCOMES THE CHEFS FROM PLANET GREEN'S FUTURE FOOD FOR ITS ANNUAL EASTER EGG ROLL EVENT

--FUTURE FOOD's Homaro "Omar" Cantu and Ben Roche to Appear and Lead Demonstrations at 2010 White House Easter Egg Roll--

(Washington, DC)This morning, one of Washington's oldest traditions will meet cuisine's cutting edge when Homaro "Omar" Cantu and Ben Roche, the chefs from the new Planet Green series FUTURE FOOD, take to the South Lawn for the 2010 White House Easter Egg Roll.

The theme of this year's event is Ready, Set, Go!, in conjunction with First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! initiative aimed at combating childhood obesity. In honor of the movement, Ben and Omar will conjure their molecular gastronomy magic to make a snack consisting solely of organic, locally-sourced fruit, creating a thrilling and unforgettable experience for the thousands of young participants in attendance.

FUTURE FOOD, airing Tuesdays at 10 PM (ET/PT) in Planet Green's VERGE primetime block, takes viewers inside the overactive imaginations of the renowned chefs and patent-owning mad scientists behind MOTO Restaurant. The series follows the two most daring creative minds in modern cuisine as they go between the kitchen, their one-of-a-kind food laboratory, and the streets of Chicago in an effort to discover the dishes of tomorrow.

"Planet Green is thrilled and honored that our two newest ambassadors are representing Discovery Communications in this year's White House Easter Egg Roll," said Laura Michalchyshyn, president and general manager of Planet Green, Discovery Health and TreeHugger. "Ben and Omar will thoroughly entertain and delight while offering a real glimpse into the future of food - a future that is fun, nutritious and imaginative."

The FUTURE FOOD chefs will spend much of the day in the Play with Your Food Area on the South Grounds, where children can experience the fun and benefit of making healthy food choices. A White House tradition since 1878, this year's event also will feature a concert stage and a number of other healthy, active attractions to go along with the long-time favorites, including Egg Dying, the Easter Egg Hunt and the Easter Egg Roll.

FUTURE FOOD is produced for Planet Green by Galafilm, Inc. in association with 2C Media and ITV Studios Global Entertainment. Jesse Fawcett, Lori Kaye and Chris Sloan are executive producers. For Planet Green, Jeff Hasler and Lynn Sadofsky are executive producers of the series.
