By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

GHOST WHISPERER (CBS) - Executive producers Kim Moses and Ian Sander have reupped their overall deal with producer ABC Studios. There they'll continue to develop new series projects for the studio, including the previously announced drama "Ghost World." Also in the works is "Ghost Town," a daytime half-hour at ABC Media Productions in which well-known psychic Maureen Hancock goes coast to coast calling up the past, seeing the future, and contacting spirits.

LIFE UNEXPECTED (The CW) - Arielle Kebbel ("Gilmore Girls") and Amy Price-Francis ("The Cleaner") are both set to recur on the show's sophomore season. Kebbel will play Paige, "the new hottie in town who may well wind up tending more than bar for Baze (Kristoffer Polaha)," while Price-Francis is set as Kelly, "a conservative author/chatterbox who becomes a partner on the radio show that Cate (Shiri Appleby) and Ryan (Kerr Smith) front." In addition, Shaun Sipos ("Melrose Place") is likewise set to turn up as David, "the hot new teacher at Westmonte High and a potential crush interest for Lux (Brittany Robertson)."

NO ORDINARY FAMILY (ABC) - Josh Stewart ("Dirt") has landed a role on the freshman drama, about a family that develops special powers after a plane crash in the Amazon River basin. He'll play the family's "watcher," who presumably guides them through their newfound abilities.

TAKEN FROM ME: THE TIFFANY RUBIN STORY (Lifetime, New!) - Oscar-nominee Taraji P. Henson ("The Curious Case of Benjamin Button") is set to topline a new docudrama at the cable channel about Tiffany Rubin, a public school teacher, and Mark Miller, founder of the non-profit organization The American Association for Lost Children, who rescued her seven-year-old son Kobe after he was kidnapped by her ex-husband and taken to his native South Korea. Front Street Pictures is behind the project with Annie Carlucci and David Rosemont serving as executive producers and Damon Lee co-executive producing. Gary Harvey will direct from a script by Michael Bortman and Elizabeth Hunter.
