'FCU: FACT CHECKERS UNIT' PREMIERES TODAY (AUGUST 17) ON FACTCHECKERSUNIT.COM WITH THREE EPISODES FEATURING LUKE PERRY ('90210'), DONALD FAISON ('SCRUBS') AND MODEL KAROLINA KURKOVA

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - August 17, 2010 - The NBC Universal Digital Studios series "FCU: Fact Checkers Unit" launched today with three episodes on www.factcheckersunit.com. The premiere episodes feature guest stars Luke Perry ('90210'), Donald Faison ('Scrubs') and model Karolina Kurkova.

The eight-episode digital series is based on a short film of the same name and reunites creators and original cast members, Peter Karinen and Brian Sacca, and creator and director Dan Beers. It also features a recurring appearance by actress Kristen Schaal ("Flight of the Conchords").

"FCU: Fact Checkers Unit" follows the adventures of two overzealous fact checkers - Russell (Karinen) and Dylan (Sacca) - who work at the popular Dictum magazine and stop at nothing to check the most absurd celebrity facts. No star is too big and no fact too obscure or arcane to run down for accuracy's sake. Tom Bannister is the executive producer of the series from SXM and Beers directs.

In episode one, "Paranormal Factivity," Russell and Dylan must find out if Perry's house is indeed haunted.

Upcoming episodes will feature guest stars Alex Trebek ("Jeopardy"), Dave Navarro ("Jane's Addiction"), Jon Heder ("Napoleon Dynamite"), Pauley Perrette ("NCIS") and Zach Gilford (NBC's "Friday Night Lights").

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., a leading mobile phone provider, and NBC Universal Digital Studio teamed up to produce the scripted comedy "FCU: Fact Checker's Unit," which highlights the capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S smart phone -- and marks a first for global distribution of a digital series which is available at www.factcheckersunit.com, on iTunes and all major cable video-on-demand services and mobile platforms in the United States and will also premiere on the digital platforms of Syfy in the United Kingdom, Syfy Universal throughout Asia/Pacific and The Sci Fi Channel in Australia. Fans can follow "FCU: Fact Checkers Unit" on Twitter at @factcheckers.

In addition to original episodic programming across all genres, the NBC Universal Digital Studio creates deep interactive experiences that drive high levels of engagement with audiences and presenting brands. The studio offers advertisers full service solutions with access to top writers, producers and talent, high-quality production expertise, consumer insights, measurements and analytics and scale to reach their target audiences. www.nbc.com/digitalstudio
