Logo Relaunches its Acclaimed Documentary Series 'Real Momentum' as 'Logo Docs'

Revamped Franchise Expands its Voice and Its Realness with True Stories about Fierce Underdogs and Novel Innovators

New Season Premieres on Saturday, September 18 at 8/7c on Logo

NEW YORK, Sept. 13 -- Logo's acclaimed documentary series is getting a new look, vibe and even a new name to continue telling true, relevant stories that both fascinate and inspire its viewers. "Logo Docs," formerly "Real Momentum," explores fierce tales of underdogs and innovators that are timely, empowering - and sometimes shocking - through the eyes of gays, lesbians, their family and friends. "Logo Docs" premieres Saturday, September 18 at 8/7c with the network premiere of "Eleven Minutes" a documentary following "Project Runway's" first winner, Jay McCarroll, through the world of the fashion industry.

"Logo Docs" kicks off with the much-buzzed about documentary "Eleven Minutes." After showing his collection at New York Olympus Fashion Week and becoming the first winner of reality television hit "Project Runway," Jay McCarroll seemed to be on top of the world, but that is when the real work began. "Eleven Minutes" goes behind the "seams" and shows what it really takes to make, market, and sell a collection during the year's most stressful and challenging week in the fashion industry. This documentary is McCarroll's year-long independent parlay into the real world of fashion, without the safety net of the reality television cameras. As a small fish in a big, glamorous pond, Jay will endure intense drama, design complications, and fierce personalities to pull off what could be a career defining moment.

"In recent years, we've thoroughly investigated the momentum of various segments within our community," said Marc Leonard, SVP of Multiplatform Programming for Logo. "Now, as our community of viewers grows, we're looking at bigger, broader stories that are more inclusive of our expansive world. We're interested in the fiercest underdogs and wildcats of fashion, celebrity, style, theater, sports and our own community."

This new season reflects the awestruck "OMFG!" moments that make gays, lesbians and their allies such a diverse and inspiring community. In this season, meet a group of musical teens as they bring hope back to New Orleans in the U.S. premiere of "After the Storm." Get to know how an adult film star became a symbol of sexual liberation in "Wrangler: Anatomy of an Icon." Go past the misconceptions of the bear community and learn about this thriving and empowering sub-culture in the broadcast premiere of "Bear Nation." Explore the high-stakes world of hair stylists with "Hair World" and the glamorous history behind the costumes of the silver screen in "Fashion in Film." Go below the surface with "Synchronized Swimming," which follows a team of hopeful girls and one ambitious boy to the championship. Finally, explore the history of Hollywood in drag in "Ladies or Gentleman" narrated by the world's most famous drag queen RuPaul of Logo's hit series "RuPaul's Drag Race" and "RuPaul's Drag U."

Logo's acclaimed documentary series explores the world of trendsetters and outsiders through stories that both fascinate and inspire. Focusing on imaginative and relevant issues, these docs reveal the unexpected pleasures, rewarding struggles, and journeys of discovery found in the everyday world around us.
