NEW YORK, Sept. 20 -- It's time to pretend with Nick Swardson! After appearances in numerous hit movies, highly-rated stand-up specials and memorable comedic turns on "RENO 911!," Nick Swardson stars in "Nick Swardson's Pretend Time," a new half-hour weekly sketch series on COMEDY CENTRAL. The new series consisting of seven episodes is executive produced by Swardson, Tom Gianas and Doug Robinson with Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions and Culver Entertainment and premieres on October 12 at 10:00 p.m.

"Nick Swardson's Pretend Time" is a sketch show in which each sketch is filtered through the absurd point-of-view of stand-up comedian Nick Swardson. Swardson takes the viewer into his goofy world through a series of sketches including the adventures of a jealous man whose mother left her estate to the family cat as well as sketches inspired by the Internet sensation "Gay Robot," which follows the life of a gay robot and his frat boy friends. Swardson's world of make-believe incorporates every reach of the imagination -- from time travel accidents to a pirate crew's unfortunately located treasure map.

Online, the "Nick Swardson's Pretend Time" site on comedycentral.com will feature episode previews, highlights, uncensored versions of show sketches and a flip book of Swardson's many characters. Additionally, fans of the series can interact with the show on Facebook, where Nick will be posting updates and messages. There will also be a Facebook Personality Quiz, "Which Pretend Time Character Are You?," where fans can find out which of Swardson's many characters they're most like and then share the results with their friends.

Beginning October 13, "Nick Swardson's Pretend Time" will be available for Download to Own on HD and on iTunes, Xbox and Playstation and SD on Amazon.

Nick Swardson, a multi-talented actor, stand-up comedian and writer, was first recognized for his stand-up at the young age of 18. Swardson taped a one-hour COMEDY CENTRAL stand-up special "Seriously, Who Farted?" in Austin, TX that aired on October 11, 2009 which premiered to over 1.2 million viewers, as well as two COMEDY CENTRAL half-hour stand-up specials, his first in 2000 at the age of 22 (the youngest ever to do so) and his second in 2006. He is also well-know for his recurring role as "Terry" in COMEDY CENTRAL'S "RENO 911!" In October 2007, Swardson released his debut CD/DVD "Party" through COMEDY CENTRAL Records, with the CD selling more than 140,000 copies and the DVD going Platinum. His second album, "Seriously, Who Farted?" was released on COMEDY CENTRAL Records on October 13, 2009.

On the film side, Swardson recently completed his first starring role in the Columbia Pictures feature, "Born to Be a Star," which he co-wrote and produced with Adam Sandler and Allen Covert. He also co-wrote and appeared in "Grandma's Boy" and "Benchwarmers."

"Nick Swardson's Pretend Time" is co-created by Swardson and Tom Gianas, who is the director and co-writer of the series. Gianas has also written and directed for "Saturday Night Live," "Human Giant," "The Adventures of Tenacious D," "The Awful Truth" with Michael Moore, "Mr. Show" and most recently, served as executive producer on "Drunk History" for HBO's "Funny or Die Presents."
