NBC to Air Three Special Holiday-Themed Episodes of "Minute to Win It"

In Addition, Third Holiday Episode of "Minute To Win It" on December 21 Will Lead into an Encore Broadcast of "SNL Presents: A Very Gilly Christmas"

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - November 1, 2010 - NBC will broadcast three special holiday-themed episodes of its popular competition series "Minute To Win It" as it returns to the primetime schedule Tuesday, December 7, 14 and 21 (8-9 p.m. ET) -- two of which will lead into the penultimate "marathon" episode of "The Biggest Loser" on December 7 (9-11 p.m. ET) and the exciting live "Loser" finale on December 14 (9-11 p.m. ET).

Then on Tuesday, December 21 (8-9 p.m. ET), the third holiday episode of "Minute To Win It" will lead into an encore airing of "SNL Presents: A Very Gilly Christmas" (9-11 p.m. ET).

"Minute" will be giving away more than just money for the holidays. Contestants will win major holiday prizes in addition to the usual cash. These holiday episodes will also include a special "Twelve Days of Christmas" theme, a $10,000 cash giveaway to lucky viewers at home, numerous audience giveaways, Christmas carolers, surprise musical performances and of course Santa and his helpers.

"The Biggest Loser" follows "Minute To Win It" on Tuesday, December 7 (9-11 p.m. ET) as the final four contestants on this season return to the ranch to run a marathon (26.2 mile course) while cheered on by family and friends. The winner of the marathon will break a "Biggest Loser" record. A final weigh-in determines who the two definite finalists will be - and which two contestants fall below the dreaded yellow line -- leaving America to vote and determine the third finalist to compete for the grand prize of $250,000.

Then after the second holiday episode of "Minute To Win It" (8-9 p.m. ET) on Tuesday, December 14, the live finale of "The Biggest Loser" (9-11 p.m. ET) begins as season 10 concludes. All of the contestants from the past season return for a special reunion and a chance to weigh in one last time -- to show America how much weight they've all lost since beginning their weight-loss journeys. There are four contestants left, but America will have voted on the two that fell below the yellow line in the previous week's episode and will choose who will be the third finalist left in the game.

After America's vote is revealed when the third finalist is announced, the eliminated player will then weigh in with the other eliminated contestants to compete for the $100,000 "at home" prize.

Then it's the moment viewers have been waiting for -- and one of the three finalists will be named this season's "Biggest Loser" and win the coveted grand prize of $250,000.

The third special holiday segment of "Minute to Win It" on December 21 (8-9 p.m. ET) will precede an encore broadcast of "SNL Presents: A Very Gilly Christmas." The two-hour holiday special will be hosted by the infamous troublemaker "Gilly" (played by SNL cast member Kristen Wiig) and will feature favorite holiday-themed sketches from SNL's 36-year history.

"Minute To Win It," which recently won an award for "Best Studio Based Game Show Format" at the C21/Frapa Awards Show at this year's Mipcom, is produced by Universal Media Studios with Friday Television. Craig Plestis, Tim Puntillo ("Identity"), Mattias Olsson and Jock Millgardh serve as executive producers.

"The Biggest Loser" is a production of Reveille LLC, 25/7 Productions and 3Ball Productions. Ben Silverman (NBC's "The Office," "Ugly Betty"), Dave Broome ("A Model Life with Petra Nemcova," "Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope"), JD Roth ("Age of Love," "Beauty and the Geek"), Todd A. Nelson ("Unan1mous," "Beauty and the Geek"), Howard Owens and Todd Lubin serve as executive producers.
