LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- NBC has booked its 35th anniversary of "Saturday Night Live" special for Sunday, February 20 at 8:00/7:00c, network sources have confirmed to the site exclusively.
The three-hour event, first teased at the Peacock's upfront presentation back in May, will "celebrate the iconic late-night series' long and eventful run on NBC since 1975."
The "SNL" special is one of many stunts the Peacock will use to fill its Sunday lineup between the conclusion of "Sunday Night Football" (January 2) and the return of "The Celebrity Apprentice" (March 6).
Other confirmed one-offs: the two-hour premiere of "The Cape" (January 9), "The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards" (January 16) and the broadcast premiere of "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" (January 30). Programming for January 23, February 6, February 13 and February 27 has yet to be announced.
Perennial newsmagazine "Dateline NBC" will lead off each night at 7:00/6:00c in one or two-hour installments as necessary, save for NBC's Golden Globe red carpet special on January 16.
