LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- TNT plans to split the current season of "Men of a Certain Age" into two six-episode parts.
The current half of the show's 12-episode sophomore run will wrap on Monday, January 10 at 10:00/9:00c and then return for part two later in 2011, most likely the summer.
A network spokesperson confirmed the news to the site exclusively this afternoon.
"Men" returned on December 6 to the tune of 2.404 million viewers and a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49, a far cry from its launch a year ago (5.397 million viewers, 1.6 rating among adults 18-49 on 12/7/09). Lead-in "The Closer" likewise was down year-to-year - 5.817 million viewers, 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 on 12/6/10 vs. 6.180 million viewers, 1.4 rating among adults 18-49 on 12/7/09 - but by smaller margins.
"The Closer" finishes its sixth season on Monday, January 3 at 9:00/8:00c. Season seven, recently announced as its last, is also due in the summer of 2011.
