|
LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

BEING ERICA (ABC, New!) - The Alphabet is looking to import the Canadian drama, which follows "the life of funny, endearing, candid and sexy thirty-something Erica Strange who has the ability to go back in time to sort out her past regrets. With the help of mysterious therapist Dr. Tom, Erica follows a time-travel therapy where she is able to relive a past regret each week in order to come back and make a positive change in her present." Temple Street Productions is behind the new incarnation, which Maggie Friedman ("Eastwick") is on board to write and executive produce alongside David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg. ABC sibling SOAPnet carries the original series, which returns for its third season on Wednesday, January 26.
BOARDWALK EMPIRE (HBO) - Jack Huston has been upped to series regular for the show's sophomore run. He'll continue on as Richard Harrow, "a disfigured war veteran and former sharpshooter in the Army who has the left side of his face covered with a painted tin plate," whom he recurred as for five episodes this past season.
DALLAS (TNT) - Salary negotiations between the network, producer Warner Horizon Television and Larry Hagman for the actor to reprise his role of J.R. Ewing on the show's small screen revival have reportedly reached an impasse. Said hour focuses on "the offspring of bitter rivals and brothers JR and Bobby Ewing, who clash over the future of the Ewing dynasty while the fate of Southfork itself weighs in the balance." Original series stars Linda Gray (Sue Ellen Ewing) and Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) are reportedly already on board the project, which comes from Cynthia Cidre.
DEXTER (Showtime) - Scott Buck has been upped to showrunner for the show's sixth season. The executive producer, who's been with the series since its second season, will succeed Chip Johannessen, who served in said capacity this past season.
EDEN (USA) - Nick D'Agosto ("Heroes") and Enver Gjokaj ("Dollhouse") have snagged the lead roles on the drama pilot, about "a young hotel worker who, with the help of his escaped con artist cousin Eddie, gets a job as the concierge at an elite NYC hotel. Together they manage to provide the hotel guests with whatever they desire, at whatever the cost." D'Agosto will play the aforementioned concierge with Gjokaj as his cousin Eddie. Jace Alexander is directing the Universal Cable Productions-based project from a script by co-creators Ken Hanes and Mary Hanes.
LOCKE & KEY (FOX) - Sarah Bolger ("The Tudors") has joined the cast of the drama pilot, about the Keyhouse, "an unlikely New England mansion, with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them.... and home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all." She'll play Kinsey Locke, a middle child who is unhappily uprooted to her dad's family home, the Keyhouse, by her mom (Miranda Otto) after he is brutally murdered. Josh Friedman penned the project, based on the IDW comic of the same name, which Mark Romanek is directing. 20th Century Fox Television, DreamWorks Television and K.O. Paper Products are co-producing.
