Marks the First Time "Survivor" Will Be Presented with a Single Sponsor Broadcast

Sprint to Present a Series of Four "What If? Moment" Vignettes that Look Back at the Tactical Game Played by Popular Former Survivors and How Having a Second Chance at Redemption Might Have Altered Their Strategy

The premiere of SURVIVOR: REDEMPTION ISLAND will be sponsored exclusively by Sprint when the 22nd edition of television's longest-running reality show returns Wednesday, Feb. 16 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

This marks the first time that SURVIVOR has been presented with a single sponsor broadcast. Sprint's sponsorship will allow for additional minutes of show content in the premiere episode.

Tied to this season's Redemption twist, each of the four commercial breaks in the premiere episode will feature a "Survivor: Redemption Island 'What If? Moment' Presented by Sprint," a series of 60-second vignettes spotlighting a popular former Survivor's tactical game. The vignette will recap the alliances they made and betrayed, their eventual elimination and how their strategy might have been altered if they knew they had a second chance at redemption. Each vignette will be followed by a traditional 30-second Sprint commercial.

The four Survivors featured in the vignettes appeared in recent editions and were chosen by executive producers Mark Burnett, David Burris and Jeff Probst based on viewer popularity and the strategic way they played the game. Host Jeff Probst narrates the vignettes.

Sprint's sponsorship will conclude with a 20-second montage of "Sprint Moments," a reminiscence of emotional moments culled from prior seasons in which Sprint had been a SURVIVOR sponsor.

SURVIVOR: REDEMPTION ISLAND features a new twist when, for the first time, castaways who have been eliminated from the game will have an opportunity to seek redemption and return for a chance to win the million dollar prize. Each week when a castaway is voted off at Tribal Council, they will be sent to the isolated island where they will live alone in exile. But, to stay on Redemption Island, they will need to compete in a duel against the next person eliminated and then against each subsequent person voted off. The winner of each duel will continue their fight for an opportunity to return to the game to compete for the title of Sole Survivor while the loser will be sent home.

SURVIVOR is hosted by Emmy Award-winner Jeff Probst and produced by SEG, Inc. Mark Burnett, Jeff Probst and David Burris are executive producers.
