Food Network and Alton Brown Embark on New Three-Year Deal
He'll guest star in "Food Network Star," premiering in June, shoot a fourth season of "The Next Iron Chef" this spring and shoot season 10 of Iron Chef America this summer.

FOOD NETWORK AND ALTON BROWN EMBARK ON NEW THREE-YEAR DEAL

NEW YORK - March 28, 2011 - Food Network and Alton Brown have agreed to a three-year deal, it was announced today by Brooke Johnson, President, Food Network & Cooking Channel. As Food Network's resident scientist and culinary investigator, Brown will look towards developing new ongoing series in partnership with the network in the coming years. He will also appear as a guest star in two episodes of Food Network's highest-rated series, Food Network Star premiering in June, shoot a fourth season of The Next Iron Chef this spring to premiere in October and shoot season 10 of Iron Chef America this summer. He will also produce and star in three one-hour themed Good Eats specials tied to Thanksgiving, chocolate and barbeque to air between 2011-2012. Additional terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.

"Alton has a loyal and passionate following and his programs draw legions of fans to our air. We are thrilled to continue our long-standing relationship with Alton and tap into his creativity for producing original programming," said Johnson.

"Food is a great subject for a filmmaker and Food Network has been a great home. They provide me with a level of creative support and professional commitment that would be tough to find anywhere else in the industry," said Brown. "I'm juiced to have an opportunity to continue the good work we've established over the last dozen years and to look ahead to new projects."
