NEW YORK, May 31, 2011 -- Step inside the van and get whisked away by H. Jon Benjamin and his investigative news team in COMEDY CENTRAL's new half-hour scripted series, "Jon Benjamin Has a Van," as they journey to the heart of America, the streets of New York, foreign lands, even the depths of space, delivering reports in an innovative style unique to the show. Emmy(R)-nominated Benjamin ("Archer," "Bob's Burgers") takes viewers on the ride of their lives in this inventive, irreverent fake news magazine/narrative show that will air Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m.

"Jon Benjamin Has a Van" will commence with a special, two-night premiere event with the series premiere ("Border") airing on Tuesday, June 14 at 10:30 p.m., following an all-new episode of "Tosh.0," before settling into its regular timeslot (Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m.) the following night with another all-new episode ("Little Italy"). The series is executive produced by Benjamin, Andrew Steele and Funny or Die, Leo Allen and Dave Kneebone of Abso Lutely Productions. Lisa Leingang is the executive in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL.

In the action-packed series premiere, "Border," on Tuesday, June 14, Benjamin lands the first ever on-camera interview with notorious Guatemalan drug lord "El Manta Blanca," plays "Ca$h Stall" with his surprised contestants and talks with an American soldier suffering from pre-traumatic stress disorder. He also heads south to follow up on a story he did two years ago on U.S./Mexico border security.

The following night, a new episode will air as the series settles into its regular timeslot on Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. In this episode, "Little Italy," Benjamin discovers a secret in New York's Little Italy that leads to him being caught in the middle of a deadly conflict. He also interviews a hero who has shown courage and fortitude under duress; in a "Jon Takes On" segment, he takes an in-depth look at an issue most are still afraid to address - gay marriage; and, finally, he receives computer tips from the elderly.

Launching in June, the "Jon Benjamin Has a Van" website will be the destination for episode highlights and preview clips, as well as exclusive web content. On Sunday, June 12, Benjamin and www.comedycentral.com will be broadcasting live from the comedy tent at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. In addition to live performances from COMEDY CENTRAL stand-ups, Benjamin is the man on the scene at the festival, bringing the exploits of his visit straight to the online audience.

Beginning on Thursday, June 16, each episode of "Jon Benjamin Has a Van" will be available in HD the day-after-air on iTunes, Xbox/Zune, Playstation and Amazon.

Actor, writer and producer, Benjamin has garnered an extensive list of credits in some of television's most entertaining series. Along with creating COMEDY CENTRAL'S "Jon Benjamin Has a Van," Benjamin currently can be heard as the voice of "Sterling Archer" in the FX animated hit, "Archer," for which he received an Emmy(R) Nomination for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance, as well as the voice of "Bob Belcher" in Fox's "Bob's Burgers."

Benjamin has a long history on COMEDY CENTRAL, where he is best known as the voice of "Dr. Katz's" lazy son, "Ben," in the Emmy(R) and Peabody(R) Award-winning animated series, "Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist," which ran from 1995-1999. In 2006, he and David Cross created the COMEDY CENTRAL animated series, "Freak Show," where he voiced the character, "Tuck." He also wrote, co-produced and appeared as numerous characters in "Important Things with Demetri Martin." In addition, Benjamin's distinctive voice has also been heard on Fox's "Family Guy," Cartoon Network's "Home Movies" and several series on Adult Swim, including "Assy McGee," "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" and "The Ventura Bros."
