Smithsonian Channel Expands Offering to a Number of Additional Comcast Markets
Boston, Baltimore, Detroit, Hartford, Pittsburgh and Richmond are among the latest additions.

SMITHSONIAN CHANNEL EXPANDS OFFERING TO A NUMBER OF ADDITIONAL COMCAST MARKETS

Award-Winning Programming, Original Series and Documentaries Now Available to Xfinity Customers in Boston, Baltimore, Detroit, Hartford, Pittsburgh, Richmond and more

New York, NY - July 13, 2011 - Smithsonian Networks announced the launch of Smithsonian Channel to Xfinity Digital Preferred customers in a number of Comcast markets including Boston, Baltimore, Detroit, Hartford, Pittsburgh and Richmond. The announcement was made today by Tom Hayden, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Smithsonian Networks.

"We could not be more thrilled that Comcast customers in these markets will now be able to tune in to Smithsonian Channel," said Hayden. "Our mission has always been to deliver to television audiences across the country a unique brand of entertaining cultural, historical and scientific programming that not only educates, but inspires. This is a major step towards achieving that goal."

Xfinity Digital Preferred customers in these markets will also have access to Smithsonian Channel's award-winning, family friendly original programs in Xfinity On Demand and XfinityTV.com. The channel's programs highlight America's historical, cultural and scientific heritage.

Smithsonian Channel will continue to launch in additional Comcast markets in the upcoming months.
