The Weather Channel Presents "Hurricane Week 2011"

Weeklong Event Includes Hurricane-Themed Programming, Live Chat with Hurricane Expert Dr. Rick Knabb and FEMA Director Craig Fugate

This year's hurricane season is well underway and The Weather Channel (TWC) has already covered five named storms, including the latest tropical storm Emily. Tune in as The Weather Channel, Your Hurricane Authority, presents "Hurricane Week" August 15-19. The week will be dedicated to preparing viewers for what TWC hurricane expert Dr. Rick Knabb predicts to be an active season.

ON TV: Hurricane-related episodes of viewer favorites Weather Caught on Camera, Storm Riders, Full Force Nature, Surviving the Elements and It Could Happen Tomorrow will air throughout the week of August 15-19 beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Also, each day beginning at 5 p.m. ET, hurricane-related episodes of the popular series Storm Stories will air. Hurricane preparation and safety tips, information and video will be featured online and on mobile from www.weather.com.

ONLINE: Visit weather.com as severe weather experts discuss how a hurricane is formed, the cities most overdue for a hurricane, and review hurricanes that have caused billions of dollars in damage.
