EL JEFE (FOX, New!) - Moses Port and David Guarascio ("Happy Endings") have sold a potential comedy to the network about "an upper-middle class 30-year-old guy who finally gets booted out of his dad and step-mom's house and moves in with his cleaning woman's family since he had nowhere else to go." Sony Pictures Television is behind the half-hour, which has a penalty attached should it not go to pilot. (Deadline.com)

GUIDANCE (FOX, New!) - Tyler Labine ("Sons of Tucson") is set to star in another potential half-hour at the network billed as "an adult buddy comedy set in high school." Tim Dowling ("Just Go With It") penned the project, which comes from 20th Century Fox Television and Ryan Reynolds and Allan Loeb's DarkFire banner. A penalty is also attached should it not go to pilot. Steven Pearl and Jonathon Komack Martin are also executive producing alongside Dowling, Reynolds and Loeb. (Deadline.com)

HIDE (TNT) - Carla Gugino has been tapped to star in the original movie, about two detectives against a killer who seems to have returned from the dead. She'll play one of the cops, D.D. Warren, in the project, which is based on the book by Lisa Gardner. John Gray ("Ghost Whisperer") is directing from a script by Janet Brownell with Stephanie Germain executive producing. (Deadline.com)

STRANGER PLANET (FOX, New!) - Matthew Miller ("Chuck") has snagged a put pilot commitment from the network for a new drama about "a hard-boiled L.A. cop who stumbles upon the existence of aliens living among us and must team up with two aliens in order to solve intergalactic mysteries on Earth." Warner Bros. Television is producing. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED GINA PRINCE-BYTHEWOOD PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Gina Prince-Bythewood ("The Secret Life of Bees") has booked a potential drama at the network billed as "a dual-female lead cop show set in one of the toughest neighborhoods of Los Angeles [where] the cops are also the subjects of a reality show." Said hour, which has a penalty attached, comes from the 20th Century Fox Television-based Imagine Television. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED GLENN GORDON CARON PROJECT (CBS, New!) - "Medium" creator Glenn Gordon Caron is back in business with the network and sibling CBS Television Studios for a new drama about "an Erin Brockovich-type woman from Queens who searches for her own identity while reuniting others." James Mangold and Cathy Konrad, whose company Treeline recently inked a two-year overall deal with the studio, are executive producing alongside Caron, who is likewise on board to direct. Said effort is loosely based on the life of licensed New Jersey investigator Pamela Slaton (OWN's "Searching For..."), whom Konrad herself once enlisted to help find her birth parents. (Deadline.com)
