BLONDIE & CLYDE/THE WONDERFUL WOMEN OF WILL'S WORLD (ABC, New!) - Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Dan McDermott have booked a pair of single-camera comedies at the Alphabet. "The Wonderful Women of Will's World," from David Diamond and David Weissman ("When in Rome"), "revolves around a charismatic man who tries to juggle his two ex-wives, his new younger wife and his three children," while "Blondie & Clyde," from Marisa Coughlan ("Lost & Found"), is billed as "a modern-day 'Laverne & Shirley' and revolves around two women with big-town dreams who live in small-town Des Moines." McDermott and di Bonaventura will executive produce each half-hour via their Di Bonaventura Pictures Television banner alongside their respective creators for ABC Studios. The company is also behind "Golden State," a legal drama from writer Michael Tolkin. (THR.com)
THE GEEKS SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH (New!) - Alexandra Robbins's book, about "seven different students with distinct quirks and shows how those personalities will prove valuable in adulthood," is being developed as a comedy at ABC Studios. Jennifer Garner's Vandalia Films is spearheading the adaptation with Bert Royal ("Easy A") on board to pen the script. Garner and her Vandalia partner Juliana Janes will then executive produce with Donna Roth and Susan Arnold also receiving producing credits. (Variety.com)
LOITER SQUAD (A.K.A. UNTITLED ODD FUTURE WOLF GANG KILL THEM ALL PROJECT) (Adult Swim) - The live-action series, featuring sketches, man on the street segments, pranks and music from the group OFWGKTA (Earl Sweatshirt, Frank Ocean, MellowHype, Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis, Mike G and The Jet Age of Tomorrow and Tyler, The Creator), has reportedly been ordered to series. Dickhouse Entertainment is behind the project, with the company's Jeff Tremaine and Adult Swim's Nick Weidenfeld serving as executive producers. The 15-minute series will roll out 2012. (THR.com)
NUMBER ONE FAN (FOX, New!) - Matt Warburton ("The Simpsons") has booked a potential comedy at the network about "a recent Los Angeles transplant, just on the verge of being 'cool' for the first time in his life, who is bummed and mildly amused when his conservative Midwestern parents move in down the street." 20th Century Fox Television-based Chernin Entertainment is behind the half-hour, which has a penalty attached should it not go to pilot. Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope will then executive produce alongside Warburton. (Variety.com)
PRINCESS OF WHALES (Lifetime, New!) - Writer Stephen Kronish ("24") and actress-turned-producer Kathryn Morris ("Cold Case") are set to team for a new drama "based on the true story of Marcia Hartman and follows the exploits of one of Las Vegas' most successful casino hostesses, whose job is to bring in the super-high rollers and make them spend as much as possible." Kronish will pen the potential hour with Morris, who won't have an on-camera role, executive producing alongside her Revival House partner Josh Gold and Prospect Park's Paul Frank, Jeff Kwatinetz and Rich Frank for Fox Television Studios. UNTITLED MAGGIE FRIEDMAN PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Greg Berlanti and Maggie Friedman ("Jack & Bobby") are set to re-team for a high-concept crime drama at the Peacock about two connected cases that occur in two different time periods. Friedman will pen the hour, which has a put pilot order, with Berlanti executive producing via his Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions. No other specifics were given. (Deadline.com)
UNTOUCHABLE (ABC, New!) - Feature writer Chap Taylor ("Changing Lanes") has booked a potential hour at the Alphabet about "a hard-charging female FBI agent with a blue-collar background who is teamed with a reckless, independently wealthy LAPD detective to take on organized crime." Rob Bowman and Mark Gordon are also executive producing the ABC Studios-based project with the former attached to direct. (Deadline.com)
YOU DESERVE IT (ABC, New!) - The Alphabet has given an eight-episode order to a new game show billed as "Jeopardy" meets "Deal or No Deal" meets "Minute to Win It." "The Bachelor's" Chris Harrison is hosting the project, in which contestants answer trivia questions using briefcase-style clues in order to win $250,000 for a loved one. Kinetic Content is behind the series, which is based on a format from Dick de Rijk ("Deal or No Deal"). De Rijk, Chris Coelen and Matilda Zoltowski are the executive producers. ABC filmed a pilot presentation back in March, with Brooke Burns serving as the on-location host who surprises the out-of-studio contestant's friend or family member with their winnings.
