HGTV Adds More Character-Driven Series To Its Programming Lineup

NEW YORK, N.Y. [For Immediate Release--September 20, 2011] HGTV has started production on three new character-driven series, including one featuring social media darlings, designers Amie Sikes and Jolie Sikes-Smith. Known as the Junk Gypsies, the Sikes sisters, whose clientele includes country music stars and Hollywood actors, take their rebellious independent spirit and unusual design philosophy on a special mission - finding "junk" and using it to transform homes. Whimsical and colorful, raucous and rowdy, these designer/decorators are definitely not antiquers or pickers. The Junk Gypsies, who have a large and passionate social media fan base that includes fellow design rebels who first discovered them from Gypsyville.com, are sisters and treasure hunters who find beauty and value in items that would otherwise end up in the trash. The series will sneak peek on Sunday, November 27 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

HGTV also will showcase Kitchen Cousins and Weekends with Luis by the end of 2011. In Kitchen Cousins, Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri, designers/contractors and cousins, run a New Jersey-based, family construction company. While construction and renovation are the mainstays of their business, designing and building dream kitchens is their passion. Throughout the series, the cousins will remodel troubled kitchens -- turning each one into a work of art.

In Weekends with Luis, Miami-based contractor Luis Bosch helps homeowners tackle a weekend project that they've always wanted to take on, but didn't know how to start. Over the course of one intense and rewarding weekend, Luis will help homeowners put their skills to use, overcome obstacles and, come Sunday evening, complete an ambitious renovation with an unbelievable reveal!

In addition to Junk Gypsies, Kitchen Cousins and Weekends with Luis, HGTV currently has more than 30 new series in the pipeline for 2012.
