Janeane Garofalo Joins Cast of "Delocated" on Adult Swim

Adult Swim announced the addition of Emmy(R) nominated actress and comedian Janeane Garofalo to the cast of Delocated. Currently in production for its third season, the 30-minute live-action comedy series airs every Sunday at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on Adult Swim. Season three of Delocated will premiere in early 2012.

"I couldn't be less excited," said Delocated creator and star Jon Glaser.

"Janeane is not very funny, and she's also a terrible actress. OH MY GOD, HILARIOUS! I ACTUALLY MEAN THE OPPOSITE OF EVERYTHING I JUST SAID ABOUT HER! WELCOME, JANEANE!"

Garofalo joins the cast as Susan Shapiro, the head of the television network that produces the reality show about "Jon" (played by Glaser), a man in the witness protection program. After testifying against the Russian Mafia, "Jon" accepts an offer to participate in a reality show based on his life. In order to protect his identity with television audiences - and more importantly, the Russian mob family the Mirminsky's - he wears a ski mask and has his voice surgically disguised.

In addition to the series, Garofalo will also join Glaser and cast members Steve Cirbus, Jacob Kogan, Yung-I Chang and Ali Farahnakian for a Delocated panel at New York Comic Con on Saturday, Oct. 15, 6:30-7:00 p.m., in Room 1A06 of the Javits Center.

Garofalo has been an American institution since she burst on the scene in 1992. In May 2010 she filmed her latest live one-hour comedy special Janeane Garofalo: If You Will for Epix/Image Entertainment. She recently starred opposite Forest Whitaker in CBS's Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior.

Over the course of her diverse and accomplished career, Garofalo has had many memorable and critically acclaimed roles in films such as The Truth About Cats and Dogs, Copland, Clay Pigeons, and The Minus Man. In 2007, her voice was featured in the awarded Disney/Pixar animated comedy Ratatouille.

She's also well known for her specific brand of sharp wit and comedy shown in her roles in Reality Bites, Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion, Bye Bye Love, Mystery Men, and The Cable Guy, directed by her friend Ben Stiller. Stiller and Garofalo also co-authored the best seller, "Feel This Book," (Ballantine May 1999). Janeane was also a cast member of the Emmy

Award-winning Ben Stiller Show. On television, Garofalo played the role of

Paula, the acerbic talent booker on The Larry Sanders Show, for which she received an Emmy nomination in 1997 and two Cable Ace nominations. During the fall of 1994 she joined the cast of Saturday Night Live. Some of Garofalo's other television work includes two specials for HBO, the series finale of Mad About You, Seinfeld and the critically lauded, final season of NBC's The West Wing, where she played Democratic campaign strategist Louise Thornton. She recently played the role of Janis Gold on FOX's 24.

Delocated is executive produced by Jon Glaser, Vernon Chatman, John Lee and Alyson Levy and premiered on Adult Swim in 2009.
