MTV HELPS BFF'S MOVE OUT OF THE "FRIENDZONE" WITH THE NEW SERIES PREMIERE ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 1, AT 7:00 P.M. ET/PT
New York, NY (October 31, 2011) - MTV tackles the age-old question - should friendships be taken to the next level? - with its new, unique spin on a traditional dating show with "FriendZone," premiering Tuesday, November 1 at 7:00p.m. ET/PT. The series gives viewers an inside look at the real lives of young people trying to turn the tables on their best friends. By confessing their true feelings, these daters are in danger of jeopardizing their entire friendship but believe that true love is worth the risk.
"FriendZone" gives the audience a glimpse into the happiness and heartache that comes with trying to get out of the "FriendZone." Each episode follows the separate stories of two different daters as each attempts to convert a close friendship into a lasting romance. Each hopeless romantic will ask their best friend to be their wingman for an upcoming blind date. The friend will think that they are helping plan the perfect rendezvous, not knowing that they are actually setting themselves up for a night to remember. Once the pair arrives at the location, the dater will confess his or her secret feelings to their unsuspecting best friend and reveal that the blind date is really for the two of them. By tempting their fate and pouring their heart out, they risk the chance of losing a tried and true best friend. If it goes well, though, they could gain a new boyfriend or girlfriend. The stakes couldn't be higher.
"FriendZone" is executive produced by SallyAnn Salsano and Joel Zimmer of 495 Productions. James DeSimas serves as the development executive for MTV and Jennifer Russakoff is the executive in charge of production for the network.
