"MR. YOUNG" MOVES TO PRIMETIME ON DISNEY XD
Series is Averaging More than 400,000 Total Viewers*
Los Angeles, CA - November 7, 2011 - With ratings success and a quickly growing fan base, Disney XD's Mr. Young has been moved to primetime. All-new episodes of the teen sitcom, which stars Brendan Meyer, Matreya Fedor and Gig Morton, will air in the coveted 8PM Eastern/Pacific timeslot on weeknights beginning Tuesday, November 8.
Produced by Thunderbird Films in association with Corus Entertainment's YTV, a leading entertainment brand for kids, Mr. Young is the brainchild of Dan Signer, creator of Disney Channel's hit series A.N.T. Farm. Signer was previously a senior writer/producer on the network's popular series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and The Suite Life on Deck.
Since premiering on Disney XD in late September, Mr. Young has been poised to achieve similar success. In primetime tests, the series is averaging more than 400,000 total viewers on Disney XD, including nearly 300,000 among its target Kids 6-14 demo. Mr. Young follows the antics of a 14-year-old child prodigy who started college at the age of nine and has entered the workforce... as a high school science teacher. Despite being a teacher, Adam Young is the exact age he would be entering high school - had he not completed the 9th grade in 35 minutes when he was seven! With one foot in the lunchroom and one foot in the staff room, Adam is trapped between two worlds. His co-workers and boss are more than twice his age - in some cases, a lot more - and Adam's students include his best friend, his crush and the class bully.
Corus Entertainment's Nelvana Enterprises and Thunderbird Films are co-distributing Mr. Young in the U.S., while Nelvana is the international distribution agent for the series.
