SEASON TWO OF "FAIRLY LEGAL" RETURNS TO USA THIS SPRING

Production Has Started in Vancouver; Ryan Johnson Joins the Cast

NEW YORK - November 09, 2011 -Start of production has begun on season two in Vancouver for USA's hit series, FAIRLY LEGAL. USA will launch season two of the series domestically in the Spring; outside the U.S., the season two launch will follow across Universal Networks International's portfolio of channels.

FAIRLY LEGAL was the top new series on cable in 1Q11 among P25-54, total viewers and households and the #1 new drama among P18-49, delivering more M18-49, M25-54 and M2+ than ABC head to head in its Thursday 10pm time period.

FAIRLY LEGAL centers on the feisty and engaging Kate Reed (Sarah Shahi), a top litigator turned anti-lawyer: a mediator with a passion for justice. Crusading against the endless bureaucracy and daily injustices of the system, Kate uses her unorthodox methods, pull-no-punches attitude, and legal savvy to resolve conflict in the face of a wide variety of adversaries. Getting people what they need and finding the "true win" is Kate's specialty, expertly handling multi-million dollar corporate disputes, personal family feuds and everything in between.

New series regular Ryan Johnson ("Ghost Rider") stirs things up at the Reed & Reed law offices this season as Ben Grogan, a sharp, hustling, up and coming trial attorney, who is brought on as a new partner to save Reed & Reed from financial collapse.

But Ben and Kate are oil and water. Ben's brash, ambulance-chasing ways represent everything Kate hates about lawyers. With Kate already at odds with managing partner and (same age) stepmother Lauren Reed, (Virginia Williams), Grogan's presence adds new fuel to the fire at work and in her personal life. Ben and Kate's sparks, all animosity at first, also threaten her relationship with soon-to-be-ex-husband A.D.A. Justin Patrick (Michael Trucco) who may or may not be ready to let Kate go. Caught in the middle of it all, as always, is Kate's geek-chic assistant, Leonardo Prince (Baron Vaughn).

From Universal Cable Productions, the series is executive produced by Steve Stark ("Medium", "The Event", "The Game") and Peter Ocko ("Pushing Daisies", "The Office," "Boston Legal"). Ocko also serves as showrunner. Joining this season as producer-director is USA Network veteran Anton Cropper ("Monk," "White Collar", "In Plain Sight"). The series is co-commissioned by Universal Networks International (UNI), the global channels' division of NBCUniversal.
