Multi-Platform, Branded Entertainment Partnership Integrates Lincoln MKX into HISTORY(R)'s Hit Series BRAD MELTZER'S DECODED
New York, New York - November 15, 2011 - Lincoln is joining with HISTORY(R) for a multi-tiered partnership which includes an in-show, history.com and Facebook integration for the network's popular series BRAD MELTZER'S DECODED, it was jointly announced today by David DeSocio, SVP, A+E Networks Partnerships and Connie Fontaine, manager of U.S. Lincoln marketing.
The Lincoln MKX plays a leading role in every episode throughout season two of the series. The vehicle is driven by the DECODED team across the country as they investigate secret clues, symbols and conspiracy theories to unravel some of history's most compelling enigmas. In addition to the vehicle being organically integrated into this season's storylines, Lincoln's intuitive technologies are highlighted in every episode.
The Lincoln MKX two-row crossover is known for its award-winning dependability and safety features, distinctive design, intuitive technology such as MyLincoln Touch and best blend of power and fuel economy among V6 luxury premium crossover competitors.
Airing during commercial breaks is a custom-produced :60 vignette featuring the Lincoln MKX. This vignette, in which HISTORY was granted rare access to locations in Grand Central Terminal, takes the DECODED team around-and-below Manhattan in search of a secret train track hidden under the Waldorf-Astoria, said to have been used by Franklin D. Roosevelt. The vignette drives viewers to continue the DECODED mission through the custom Facebook sweepstakes "New York City Decoded," sponsored exclusively by Lincoln. This digital component of the partnership adds another layer of entertainment and engagement for HISTORY's 6.4 million Facebook fans.
Starting today and running for six weeks, Facebook users will be able to enter the sweepstakes at www.facebook.com/history and www.decodedsweeps.com by forming their own DECODED teams from their Facebook friends lists and solving weekly challenges based on fascinating pieces of New York City history hidden in plain sight. The winner will receive a trip for four to New York City and a $5,000 cash prize.
"The tremendous growth of HISTORY's content has enabled us to enhance our opportunities with brands in innovative ways. We're thrilled to partner with Lincoln, making the MKX a vital character in our DECODED series," said DeSocio. "This partnership brings the DECODED experience to life for our viewers, allowing them to engage in an exciting decoding mystery of their own."
"Lincoln is pleased to partner with HISTORY for the DECODED series," said Fontaine. "The series will be used to highlight the Lincoln MKX and its intuitive technology in a thought-provoking way that is indicative of how we've been showcasing our cars."
