Top FOX and Sinclair Stations Push Renewals of New Syndicated Talk Show
From Producer ITV Studios America Past 50% of U.S.
Los Angeles and New York, Nov. 17, 2011 - Debmar-Mercury, teaming with producer ITV Studios America, has renewed The Jeremy Kyle Show for the 2012-13 season in more than 50% of the U.S., including the FOX stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Washington, D.C., and Houston. Debmar-Mercury Co-Presidents Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein made the announcement today.
The renewals by the FOX and Sinclair stations will bring the new one-hour talk show strip back for a second season.
Marcus and Bernstein commented, "The renewals by these great station partners are a testament to Jeremy's staying power and ability to build a long-term franchise. He is a highly compelling host who has brought a fresh, common sense approach to American television. It is easy to see why Jeremy is such an icon and owns daytime television in the U.K."
"Jeremy is one of the U.K.'s top talents and we couldn't be more delighted to be going into a second season," said ITV Studios America President and CEO, and MD of ITV Studios International, Paul Buccieri. "We believe the show's audience will continue to grow as a result of the support from everyone within the U.S. and ITV in the U.K."
The Jeremy Kyle Show features everyday people facing extraordinary challenges, ranging from dysfunctional relationships and addictions to family crises; a no-nonsense host who isn't afraid to tell them some hard truths; and a compassionate guest services program that works diligently to get them the help they need.
Kyle launched his eponymous program in the U.K. six years ago, where it quickly became the top daytime show and made him into an icon whose program wins viewer accolades, including receiving the TV Choice Award for Best Daytime Series in September 2011.
The U.S. version of The Jeremy Kyle Show is produced by ITV Studios America, distributed domestically in the U.S. by Debmar-Mercury and internationally by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
