LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- HBO has ordered a second season of its Golden Globe-nominated comedy "Enlightened" while "Bored to Death," "How To Make It in America" and "Hung" won't return for new seasons.
Said moves, confirmed by the network this morning, once again affirm the pay channel's "ratings don't matter" philosophy when it comes to its original series.
"Enlightened" was actually the least-watched of the quartet this season (164,000 viewers, 0.1 adults 18-49 rating through December 5) as "Bored to Death" (225,000 viewers, 0.1 adults 18-49 rating), "How to Make It in America" (534,000 viewers, 0.3 adults 18-49 rating) and "Hung" (1.023 million viewers, 0.4 adults 18-49 rating) all posted larger audiences.
The three departing series however were down from their 2010 numbers: "Hung" (2.457 million viewers, 1.3 adults 18-49 rating), "Bored to Death" (927,000 viewers, 0.4 adults 18-49 rating on Sunday nights) and "How to Make It in America" (646,000 viewers, 0.3 adults 18-49 rating).
