Vanilla Ice Rocks Out with a Second Season of DIY Network's "The Vanilla Ice Project"
Sophomore Series Featuring Rapper and Home Renovation Star Vanilla Ice Premieres Saturday, January 21 at 10 p.m. ET; "Ice My House" Special Kicks-Off the Night at 9 p.m. ET
NEW YORK, January 19, 2012 - Renegade home renovator and 90s' pop icon Vanilla Ice and his crew are back for a second season of hardcore renovations as they take on a new Palm Beach mansion in need of some serious remodeling. DIY Network's popular primetime series kicks off with two premiere episodes on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 10 p.m. ET after a one-hour special, Ice My House, on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 9 p.m. ET, documenting a $30,000 personal room renovation for one lucky Dallas couple selected by Vanilla Ice and his trailblazing team.
"I love flipping houses with my crew and turning a neglected mansion into a modern state-of-the-art, one-of-a-kind pad," said Rob Van Winkle, better known as Vanilla Ice. "We pulled off an amazing renovation last year and you won't believe what we are pulling off this season."
This January, Van Winkle puts his over 15 years of home improvement experience to the test as he tackles a new Palm Beach area home in complete disrepair. With the help of his crew of contractors, Wes, Handsome Dan, Jeremy and Frank, Van Winkle and his entourage chase down the hottest home improvement trends and technology to rebuild this mega mansion in need of a major facelift. From transforming a corroded mansion pool into the ultimate backyard oasis to taking on a front yard like never seen before, Van Winkle and his crew are back with a vengeance. Whether breaking down walls or having fun with power tools, Van Winkle and his all-star team prove that anything is possible when you work hard and play hard.
In the one-hour Ice My House special, Van Winkle goes into suburban America, like never before, for a surprise rock star room renovation. Van Winkle and his motley crew transform the small guest house of Dallas' Sean and Erica Heatley's mid-century modern home and create an off the hook hangout for family and friends that every viewer wishes they had.
After his chart topping hit "Ice Ice Baby," Van Winkle turned his focus to a new hobby - buying land and flipping houses. He's renovated old homes and foreclosures, and taught himself the basics through hands-on experience, research and over a decade's worth of knowledge. The first season of DIY Network's The Vanilla Ice Project premiered to critical-acclaim in October 2010. For more information, visit www.DIYNetwork.com/VanillaIce.
