LIFETIME TO AIR NEW DOCUSERIES "BRISTOL PALIN: LIFE'S A TRIPP"
Program to Reveal the Real Bristol Palin with Exclusive Look
Into Her Daily Life as a Young Single Mother Living on Her Own
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 29, 2012) - Lifetime has picked up Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp, an all-new docuseries that will provide an exclusive, rare glimpse into Bristol Palin's real life as a young, single mother forging her own way in the world while living under the constant spotlight as a member of one of America's most high-profile families.
With never-before-granted access to Bristol's real-life experiences growing into womanhood, Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp will reveal how she adjusts to her life in Alaska, where daily she faces the many pressures of raising her toddler son Tripp alone and maintains the close relationship she holds with her parents, former Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin and Todd, and siblings. Steadfastly moving forward both personally and professionally, Bristol will be confronted by the many difficult life decisions people must make regarding parenthood, family, relationships and career - giving viewers a unique look at how these true-to-life challenges test her resolve as she single-handedly writes the next chapter in her and Tripp's young life.
"From the first moment she was thrust into the public eye, Bristol and her son have been the subjects of a huge amount of curiosity and misunderstanding. This show will reveal the real Bristol Palin and her journey as a daughter, a mother and a young woman making her way in the world," said Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President, Programming, of Lifetime Networks.
Lifetime has ordered 10 half-hour episodes of the program to air this year. Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp will be produced by Associated Television International, with David McKenzie, Jim Romanovich and David Martin executive producing with Lifetime's Sharenow, Gena McCarthy and Noah Pollack. Robyn Schnieders will co-executive produce.
The former first daughter of Alaska, Palin has become one of the country's most high-profile teen mothers after the 2008 birth of Tripp. She has since dedicated her life to being a leading advocate for the prevention of teen pregnancy, working with such organizations as the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy and the Candie's Foundation to educate people about the issue. In 2010, Palin appeared on ABC's hit reality competition series Dancing with the Stars, on which she placed in third. Most recently, she published her New York Times best-selling book, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far, which candidly chronicles her public and personal life.
