"JESSIE," THE #1 COMEDY AMONG KIDS AND TWEENS HAS ORDER FOR SECOND SEASON, INSPIRES A DISNEY CHANNEL ORIGINAL MOVIE

Disney Channel has ordered a second season of its hit series "Jessie" and has also ordered a movie script based on it for its Disney Channel Original Movie franchise, it was announced today by Adam Bonnett, Senior Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channels Worldwide. The series, starring fan-favorite Debby Ryan, ranks #1 among Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14. Its executive producer and creator Pamela Eells O'Connell and co-executive producer Adam Lapidus are developing the movie as well. In addition to Ryan, the series stars: Kevin Chamberlin, Peyton List, Karan Brar, Cameron Boyce and Skai Jackson.

In 2012 to date, "Jessie" is TV's #1 series in Kids 2-11 (3.014 million/7.3 rating), Kids 6-11 (2.536 million/10.3 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (2.122 million/8.8 rating). [Source: NTI, 12/26/11-3/4/12, U.S. ratings, most current, trackage data with minimum 3 telecasts].

In the series, Jessie is nanny to the Ross Family and, while Jessie's first year in New York City has been full of opportunity and excitement, she has learned how much she relies on the support and advice of the kids in her care -- 13-year-old Emma, the biological child of the bunch, 10-year-old Indian adoptee Ravi, 12-year-old American adoptee Luke and seven-year-old African adoptee Zuri. Also helping Jessie navigate her big city adventure is Bertram, the family's beloved, yet frosty butler, and Tony, the building's 20-year-old doorman. From paint ball fights, to school plays, to winning over rival nannies, Jessie and the Ross Family embrace the highs and lows of young adulthood together.

This month, Disney Consumer Products debuted the D-Signed Jessie Prescott Collection, a line of tween apparel inspired by the Jessie character. Exclusively available at Target, the collection includes spring dresses, layered skirts and embellished tees that embody the character's style with a mix of sophistication and youthful design for a fun, polished look.

New episodes of "Jessie" air Fridays at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT on Disney Channel. The series is a production of It's A Laugh Productions, Inc. It carries a TV-G parental guideline.
