BAM & IFC JOIN FORCES TO CREATE A NEW COMEDY NIGHT SPOTLIGHTING EMERGING TALENT
Brooklyn & New York, NY - April 11, 2012 - BAM (www.BAM.org) and IFC (www.IFC.com) join forces to present Get It Out There: Comedy by BAM & IFC, a new comedy showcase that encourages comics to experiment recklessly with humor by testing out fresh material and probing the depths of their twisted souls for new forms of funny.
Get It Out There debuts Wednesday, April 25 at 9pm (bar opens at 8pm) in the BAMcaf (30 Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn, NY) and returns six times throughout the year, on May 30, June 27, September 12, October 3, November 7, and December 5. The program is free and open to the public. Curated by Caroline Creaghead (Creaghead & Company), each Get It Out There comedy night features a rotating roster of comedians; the debut lineup features Wyatt Cenac (Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart), Mike Lawrence (TBS' Conan), Damien Lemon (Comedy Central's Russell Simmons Presents The Ruckus, MTV2's Guy Code), and Giulia Rozzi (VH1's Stripped Stories), hosted by Jared Logan (John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show). IFC will support Get It Out There on air and online via 30-second vignettes and a dedicated microsite, www.ifc.com/get-it-out-there.
"BAM has always had a commitment to showcasing what's next" says BAM Executive Producer Joseph V. Melillo.
