Logo Greenlights "RuPaul's Drag Race" Season Five With Launch of Online Casting Contest
Drag Queen Hopefuls Can Upload Audition Videos from April 11th to April 18th
Fans to Pick One of the Dragtestants with Online Voting that Begins April 18th and Concludes May 2nd
NEW YORK, April 12, 2012 --Are you a Glamazon? Think you have what it takes to work it out on the main stage? Now's your chance! Logo is calling for all "America's Next Drag Superstar" hopefuls to upload their audition videos on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/rupaulsdragrace) starting today until April 18th. Beginning April 18th, fans will be able to watch the submissions and vote for their favorites. Voting will end on May 2nd and the top queen, as determined by the fans, will join the cast to compete on the fifth season of "RuPaul's Drag Race" slated to air on Logo in early 2013. The lucky winner will be announced on Facebook in June.
Commenting on the casting contest, RuPaul exclaimed, "I live for drag and to witness the excitement surrounding the success of our show, takes my breath away!"
RuPaul, the world's most famous drag queen, has pushed the boundaries of popular culture on an international level and continues to make history with "RuPaul's Drag Race," the first reality television show featuring drag queens. The current season of "RuPaul's Drag Race" recorded the highest-rated series premiere in Logo's history reaching nearly one million viewers on its premiere night.
