E! INVITES VIEWERS TO "MEET MRS. EASTWOOD & COMPANY" IN NEW SPECIAL THAT INTRODUCES THE SURPRISINGLY NORMAL EXTENDED AND BLENDED FAMILY BEHIND ONE OF HOLLYWOOD'S MOST ICONIC SUPERSTARS
New Special Debuts Sunday, May 6 at 10:30pm in Advance of E!'s Highly Anticipated One-Hour Series Premiere of "Mrs. Eastwood & Company" on Sunday, May 20 at 10:00pm
"I don't know what the hell I was thinking. I was probably having a mid-life crisis. Some women do crazy stuff, get shopping addictions or get other crazy things. My mid-life crisis was adopting a boy band." - Dina Eastwood
Los Angeles, CA May 2, 2012 - Filled with love, family and music, E!'s new series "Mrs. Eastwood & Company" will follow the lives of Dina Eastwood, wife of Academy Award-winning film legend Clint Eastwood, their fifteen year-old daughter Morgan, Dina's nineteen year-old step-daughter Francesca, and Overtone, the all-male, six-member vocal group from South Africa managed by Dina. But before the new series makes its debut, viewers are invited to tune-in two weeks prior for a new special that goes inside the Eastwood's Carmel, CA home to get well acquainted with the newest family on the E! block.
In the special "Meet Mrs. Eastwood & Company" premiering Sunday, May 6th at 10:30 pm ET/PT, Dina, Morgan, Francesca and the boys of Overtone are joined by Dina's brother Dom and the family's wise-cracking housekeeper Lisa, to give viewers a taste of what it's like to be a member, extended or otherwise, of the Eastwood family. The special will look back at everything from Dina and Clint's first date to how they discovered Overtone in South Africa, as the family opens up to provide all the back-story to help welcome viewers into their seemingly unconventional lives. Former news anchor and self proclaimed loud-mouth cheerleader, Dina Eastwood dishes the coming of age stories of two teenage girls and how she got pregnant the same week they married. "I was a newlywed to Clint Eastwood, with a full time job, a kid within 9 months, and step-mom at the time to three small children. It was a lot. That's why I have white hair," Dina explains. The men of Overtone also open up about being discovered by Dina, performing a private show for Clint, Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon during the filming of their film "Invictus" in South Africa and leaving their close knit families behind for a chance of a lifetime in America.
In the new one-hour series premiere of "Mrs. Eastwood & Company" on Sunday, May 20th at 10pm ET/PT, E! cameras follow the surprisingly relatable daily life of super-mom Dina Eastwood as she juggles the ups and downs of an impressionable teenage daughter, struggles with her skepticism of Francesca's older and rebellious boyfriend - controversial celebrity photographer Tyler Shields, planning family vacations, organizing school carpools, and getting dinner on the table. As if her plate wasn't already full, Dina has taken on a true passion project by virtually adopting the band Overtone (comprised of Emile Welman, Eduard Leonard, Shane Smit, Riaan Weyers, Ernie Bates and Valentino Ponsonby) and spending her very limited spare time preparing this group of handsome, wide-eyed young men for possible life-changing opportunities. From auditions to developing new music and dealing with internal conflict among the group, Dina has vowed to break this band into the American market no matter what obstacles get in her way. With the gorgeous backdrop of Carmel, California as their home, the non-traditional family that makes up "Mrs. Eastwood & Company" may have their quirks, but they are held together by unconditional love, understanding minds and plenty of heart.
