ABC NEWS ANNOUNCES JOSH ELLIOTT AND LARA SPENCER AS ANCHORS OF "GOOD AFTERNOON AMERICA"
One-Hour Extension of "Good Morning America" Begins Monday, July 9
At 2:00 p.m., ET and Continues for Nine Subsequent Weeks
Beginning Monday, July 9, ABC News will air a one-hour extension of "Good Morning America" for nine weeks entitled "Good Afternoon America." The program will be anchored by "GMA's" Josh Elliott and Lara Spencer, with Sam Champion, Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos joining in with special appearances. The energetic, fast-paced program will feature the most-talked about celebrities, performances by the biggest names in the music industry, the latest pop culture news, plus original entertainment, lifestyle, health, workplace and consumer reporting from an all-star list of contributors and other members of the ABC family.
"It's tremendous that 'GMA' has this opportunity to extend its reach and bring something new to the afternoons," said co-anchor Josh Elliott. "It is gratifying to play a role in it, and we genuinely hope our audience will come along for the ride." "Good Afternoon America" will air from 2:00-3:00 p.m., ET and will be taped at "GMA's" studio at the crossroads of the world, the heart of Times Square.
