A MOVIE WITH HEART... AND A WHOLE LOT OF FUR!
"PUPPY LOVE" STARRING CANDACE CAMERON BURE, A HALLMARK CHANNEL ORIGINAL MOVIE WORLD PREMIERE, SEPTEMBER 8
"Puppy Love" Premiere is Inaugural Event for Hallmark Channel's Pet Project, an Evergreen Initiative to Save the Lives of Homeless Pets Through Adoption
Hallmark Channel presents the World Premiere of the Hallmark Channel Original Movie, "Puppy Love," starring Candace Cameron Bure ("Full House," "Make It Or Break It") and Victor Webster ("Castle"), Saturday, September 8 (9pm ET/PT, 8C). "Puppy Love" is one of many planned events for Hallmark Channel's Pet Project, the network's evergreen initiative to save the lives of homeless pets through adoption and to promote healthy relationships between people and pets. Candace Cameron Bure is a spokesperson for Pet Project. Bure is joined in support of Pet Project by Luke Perry, Valerie Harper, Stacy Keibler, Dean Cain, Kellie Martin, and many more.
"Puppy Love" is a Shaggy Dog-type tale about a lovable mutt "Jake" (played by BugZ) whose mischievous behavior pushes two unlikely people together for good. In the film, Bure plays single mom Megan who reluctantly adopts a puppy for her lonely child only to find herself in a custody battle of sorts with a handsome ballplayer who claims the dog was his first!
Pro baseball player Ben (Webster) is devastated to find his pup has slipped out of the house thanks to a careless roommate; Jake ends up at the local shelter. Megan and daughter Caitlin (Katie Hawkins) --new to town - are at the shelter to find Caitlin a best friend. The girl is immediately drawn to Jake, the biggest, happiest, sloppiest dog in the pound; Caitlin falls in love. Hesitant Megan worries about such an energetic dog, but she relents and adopts. Ben is relieved to hear the shelter has taken Jake in, but through a mix-up, Megan and Caitlin leave with the dog just as Ben is going in to claim him. In a tale filled with heart (and a whole lot of fur), Ben and Megan are forced to share custody of Jake. Initially, the couple clashes over how to raise Jake; however, spending so much time together has its benefits. Soon there is a whole different kind of puppy love going on.
Hallmark Channel's Pet Project launched early in 2012 with the mission to help families find pets who need a forever home and to promote healthy, loving relationships between people and their pets.
