A&E NETWORK GREENLIGHTS HIT SERIES "DUCK DYNASTY" FOR A SECOND SEASON
NETWORK ORDERS 26 EPISODES FROM GURNEY PRODUCTIONS
NEW YORK, NY - JUNE 20, 2012 - A&E Network has picked up a second season of the breakout hit series "Duck Dynasty," it was announced today by David McKillop, Executive Vice President, Programming, A&E Network. The series follows the Robertson family who operate a thriving duck call business while staying true to their family values and lifestyle on the Louisiana bayou.
"Duck Dynasty" is one of A&E's fastest growing series; the season one finale of "Duck Dynasty" on May 23rd drew 2.6 million total viewers and 1.5 million in both adults 25-54 and 18-49 demos, making it cable's number one original show for the night.
"There is truly no one else like the Robertsons in the TV landscape," said McKillop. "We are proud to have them as a part of our A&E family and excited to bring fans a new season of their unique brand of southern schooling."
Season two of 'Duck Dynasty' will begin production this summer on 26 new 30-minute episodes slated to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2012.
"Duck Dynasty" is produced for A&E Networks by Gurney Productions. Executive producers for Gurney Productions are Deirdre Gurney, Scott Gurney and Joe Weinstock. Executive producers for A&E are David McKillop, Elaine Frontain Bryant and Lily Neumeyer.
