truTV Orders Second Season of Hit Series "Impractical Jokers"
Series Stars Announce Season 2 Pickup with Video Message to Fans on Facebook
truTV has ordered a second season of the hit series Impractical Jokers, the network's hilarious hidden-camera series featuring four lifelong friends who take dares to an outrageous level. In keeping with the offbeat nature of the series, Impractical Jokers stars Brian "Q" Quinn, James "Murr" Murray, Joe Gatto and Sal Vulcano made the announcement through a special video message to fans posted on their Facebook fan page at http://facebook.com/ImpracticalJokers.
truTV has ordered 15 episodes for the second season of Impractical Jokers, with plans to launch the new season in December 2012.
Ever since they were little kids growing up together, Q, Murr, Joe and Sal have challenged one another to do the most ridiculous public dares imaginable. Now, to find out who's best under pressure, they're competing in unbelievably awkward and outrageous hidden-camera hijinks. Then, at the end of each episode, the loser must attempt the most mortifying challenge ever.
Impractical Jokers premiered to critical acclaim last December and quickly became one of truTV's biggest hits, especially among young adults. Since its premiere, the show has averaged 2 million viewers in its first season, including more than 1.3 million adults 18-49 and 773,000 men 18-49. Impractical Jokers is also one of truTV's youngest-skewing series, scoring a median age of only 32. In addition, the show's Facebook page has drawn more than 235,000 fans, a remarkable achievement for a series that's only six months old.
Impractical Jokers comes to truTV from NorthSouth Productions (Say Yes to the Dress), with Charlie DeBevoise and Mark Hickman serving as executive producers. For truTV, Adam Dolgins serves as executive in charge of production and Angel Annussek serves as executive producer.
