FOX AND SHINE AMERICA ANNOUNCE WALMART AS AN OFFICIAL SPONSOR OF CULINARY SMASH HIT "MASTERCHEF"
Walmart To Be Featured in On-Air and Online Integrations
The Search for America's Best Amateur Cook Continues Tonight on FOX
Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) and Shine America announced today that Walmart is an official sponsor of MASTERCHEF's third season. Walmart's partnership with MASTERCHEF will be featured in three exciting challenges this season, the first of which airs tonight, Tuesday, June 26 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The on-air integrations will highlight Walmart's premium selection and wide assortment of top quality USDA Choice steaks, which are available in stores nationwide.
In tonight's episode, the Top 13 amateur cooks compete in a mystery box challenge featuring Walmart's USDA Choice T-Bone steaks and a variety of fresh produce and spices, all of which cost less than $15 total. In this challenge, the first of three on-air integrations, judges Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot will award the contestant who cooks the most imaginative and well-executed dish with a significant advantage in the next round.
Later this season, in the other Walmart on-air integrations, the remaining contestants will visit a rodeo and work in teams to prepare an outstanding steak meal for 101 hungry cowboys. Finally, in an intense pressure test, the amateur cooks facing elimination will create three steak dishes using Walmart USDA Choice steaks.
In addition, Walmart will sponsor and be featured in exclusive content that can be seen on www.fox.com/MasterChef, as well as Walmart's YouTube channel; official Facebook page, www.facebook.com/walmart; and Twitter page, www.twitter.com/walmart.
The competition heads to the beach next Monday, July 2 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) as the judges split up the remaining contestants into three teams to compete in a food truck challenge. Each team will create a delicious menu for beachgoers. The team that earns the most money wins the challenge, while the losing team faces elimination in a pressure test. On Tuesday, July 3 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), Graham Elliot joins the amateur cooks in the MASTERCHEF kitchen and whips up his own dish using the mystery box ingredients. But the intensity reaches a boiling point for the remaining contestants as they face a double elimination that will send not one, but two amateur cooks home.
MASTERCHEF is produced by Shine America and One Potato Two Potato and is based on the format created by Franc Roddham and Shine. Shine International handles distribution for the MASTERCHEF format. Elisabeth Murdoch, Eden Gaha, Robin Ashbrook, Gordon Ramsay, Adeline Ramage Rooney, Patricia Llewellyn and Ben Adler serve as executive producers.
