LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has booked encores of "The X Factor" as its alternate programming during post-season baseball this fall, network sources have confirmed to the site exclusively.
Said development means that if Games 5, 6 and 7 aren't necessary during the NLCS or World Series, repeats of the most recent episodes of the talent competition will run instead. Here's a list of those dates (all at 8:00/7:00c):
Friday, October 19 - NLCS Game #5
Monday, October 22 - NLCS Game #7 (leading into the presidential debate at 9:00/8:00c)
Monday, October 29 - World Series Game #5
Wednesday, October 31 - World Series Game #6
Thursday, November 1 - World Series Game #7
The only exception is the NLCS Game #6 on Sunday, October 21 which is currently scheduled to air in the afternoon but will move to primetime if the ALCS doesn't go to a seventh game. If both series wrap by said date, FOX's animated comedies will presumably run in primetime.
Meanwhile, FOX has also tapped repeats of "MasterChef" to inherit its Saturday, 11:00/10:00c slot beginning November 3. The time period is currently home to "Touch" repeats through October 27.
