PRESIDENT OBAMA WELCOMES NEW NBC COMEDY SERIES "1600 PENN" TO WHITE HOUSE FOR SCREENING ON JANUARY 9
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., - January 8, 2013 -- NBC's new comedy "1600 Penn" comes to the White House tomorrow (January 9) as President Obama will host the cast and crew at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for a screening and reception for the series that premieres on Thursday, January 10 (9:30-10 p.m. ET).
The late-afternoon event climaxes a whirlwind day of promotional events in Washington, D.C., designed to launch "1600 Penn." The schedule also includes a tour of the White House and a screening and panel at the National Press Club. President Obama will be joined by his speechwriting team, which once included Jon Lovett, who co-created and executive-produces the show with series star Josh Gad, director Jason Winer and Mike Royce. The series stars include Bill Pullman ("Independence Day") as President Gilchrist, Jenna Elfman ("Dharma and Greg") as his second wife, Emily, and Gad as Gilchrist's wayward son, Skip.
