DIY NETWORK TACKLES RENOVATIONS GONE WRONG IN NEW PRIMETIME SERIES "RESCUE MY RENOVATION"

NEW YORK - February 13, 2013 - DIY Network is coming to the aid of desperate homeowners everywhere with its new series Rescue My Renovation. The half-hour program, hosted by contractor John DeSilvia, documents the serious side of renovation, as homeowners combat the structural and monetary damage caused by contractors with shoddy workmanship and builders who take the money and run. John comes to the rescue, transforming these nightmare renovations into a dream come true for distressed homeowners. Rescue My Renovation premieres on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 9 p.m. ET.

"Unfortunately, this show's concept is all too familiar to many homeowners," said Steven Lerner, DIY Network's vice president, programming. "In no time, unqualified and unprofessional workers can take a renovation from bad to worse. The aim of Rescue My Renovation is to educate people about how to get their project back on track as quickly as possible with the help of a qualified contractor."

DIY Network's Rescue My Renovation features some of the most common problems that homeowners are left with after their contractors leave them high and dry with a sloppy renovation. In the debut episode, U.S. Air force service member Chris Holman and his wife Dolores take John on a tour of renovations performed by an unqualified contractor. Immediately, John notices cracks forming around the opening the contractor made when knocking down a wall. While inspecting a leak in the upstairs crawlspace, he discovers that the shingles were not installed properly either. John wastes no time starting demolition in search of solutions for this military family. In each episode, John works quickly to repair damage and finish incomplete jobs, leaving every homeowner with a home that is not only beautiful, but safe as well.
