New York, NY (February 14, 2013) - Television's highest rated new cable series of 2012, "Catfish: The TV Show," will conclude its dramatic first season on Monday, February 18 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. The groundbreaking series which has put the spotlight on the "Catfish" phenomenon and propelled the term into the national lexicon features filmmakers Nev Schulman and Max Joseph as they tackle the mystery and complexities of dating in a digital world. Leading up to the finale, viewers will get a second chance to catch up on season one during the "Catfish Countdown to Finale" marathon on Monday, February 18 from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The marathon will include never-before-seen footage as well as introductions by Nev and Max.
On the heels of the season one conclusion, MTV will air "Catfish: The Reunion Show" on Monday, February 25 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by SuChin Pak, Nev and Max, the reunion will bring viewers up to speed on where many of the couples from season one are today. Who stayed in contact? Who is still romantically involved? Who has remained friendly? Who can't stand being in the same room? All will be revealed in the hour-long special that promises to be filled with dramatic and unexpected moments.
All season long Nev and Max took viewers on a deeply personal journey inside the stories of young people as their online-only romantic relationships collided with first-time, real-life encounters. In the season finale, lovesick Mike has met Felicia on a dating website and has dreams of meeting his paramour in person. Unfortunately, when they finally make plans to meet, Felicia stands Mike up. "Catfish: The TV Show," produced by RelativityREAL, became MTV's highest rated series premiere at 11:00 p.m. ever and is the highest rated start to an MTV series since 2007. Season one of "Catfish: The TV Show" is averaging a 2.3 P12-34, and averaging 2.4 million total viewers. The show was the highest-rated new cable series of 2012, and continues to rank as Monday's #1 cable series.*
