GREEN IS UNIVERSAL KICKS OFF EARTH WEEK 2013 CELEBRATION WITH NATIONWIDE CALL TO ACTION: "WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER" GIVEAWAY
Nigel Barker And Coco Rocha From Oxygen's "The Face" Share Green Tips
NEW YORK, NY - March 18, 2013 - NBCUniversal's Green is Universal unveiled the first installment of initiatives leading up to Earth Week (April 21-28, 2013) with a call to action around the One Small Act app. Designed to drive sustainable awareness through the app, the "We're All in This Together" giveaway is an easy and fun way to make a difference in your life and for the environment. Between March 12th and April 9th, consumers can download the "One Small Act" app and enter to win various prize packages by completing any three environmentally sustainable actions on the "We're All in This Together" action list. The app encourages users to make small changes in their daily life, which can have a large impact on the environment.
"During this year's Earth Week, we plan to reinforce the influence small, everyday acts have on the world around us," said Beth Colleton, Senior Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility for NBCUniversal. "We hope that our One Small Act app challenge will inspire people to take action."
Eligible participants will receive a Green is Universal tote bag featuring environmentally friendly items, including a DVD copy of Universal Studio Home Entertainment's soon-to-be released Planet Ocean (2013), an investigative look at the bond between humanity and the ocean. Prizes are limited to one per household and will only be available while supplies last.
Nigel Barker and Coca Rocha from Oxygen's "The Face" are among the top celebrities encouraging sustainable awareness and the environmental impact of small acts. Video messages will be released weekly via Twitter, Facebook and the Green is Universal blog to promote the "We're All in This Together" giveaway and NBCUniversal's upcoming Earth Week initiatives.
To enter the giveaway, participants must download the free "One Small Act" app available via iTunes or the mobile web. For more prize details and official rules, visit the "We're All in This Together" page. To stay up-to-date with NBCUniversal's Earth Week plans, follow Green is Universal on Facebook and on Twitter.
About the One Small Act app
With more than 400 possible actions, the app allows users to set personal goals, track their progress and share achievements with friends via Facebook and Twitter. Once the user has achieved a goal, they receive points associated with the action. The points indicate how big of an impact each small act can have on the environment, and users can learn more about why each act is important. In addition to eco-tips from favorite NBCUniversal stars, the app gives users suggestions of additional, eco-friendly actions that can be incorporated into everyday life.
About Green is Universal

Throughout the year, NBCUniversal uses its numerous media and entertainment platforms to educate the public on the environment, with hundreds of hours of green-themed content airing across all NBCUniversal brands.
