SUNDANCE CHANNEL PARTNERS WITH ART HOUSE CONVERGENCE AND SUNDANCE CINEMAS TO SNEAK PEEK THE NETWORK'S UPCOMING DRAMA SERIES "RECTIFY" AT MORE THAN A DOZEN THEATERS NATIONWIDE ON TUESDAY, APRIL 16TH

Network's First Wholly-Owned Original Scripted Series to Debut on Monday, April 22 at 9:00PM ET/PT Screening to Benefit the Osborne Association

New York, NY - April 8, 2013 - To celebrate the launch of Sundance Channel's first wholly owned original scripted project, "Rectify", the network has partnered with Art House Convergence and Sundance Cinemas to offer the public a sneak peek at more than a dozen theaters across the country. On the evening of Tuesday, April 16, the participating theaters will screen the first two episodes of the six-part series followed by a Skype Q & A with members of the cast. There will be no cost to attend the screening, however the Osborne Association will be accepting donations. "Rectify" is set to premiere on Sundance Channel on Monday, April 22 at 9:00pm et/pt with a two hour debut.

"Rectify" is created and written by Ray McKinnon (The Accountant, That Evening Sun, Mud) and executive produced by Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein (the team behind the critically-acclaimed AMC series, "Breaking Bad"). When Daniel Holden (Aden Young) is released after nearly 20 years of complete isolation on Death Row, he returns as an outsider to his family, to his community, and to the times. Somehow, he survived the mental and emotional strain of his imprisonment, but now the walls have suddenly come crumbling down and Daniel is set free in a world he no longer understands. He's an outsider, lost in a once familiar world, struggling to navigate his new found freedom. Combined with two decades of technological and social changes to his small town and the larger world, everything he encounters is a puzzle.

The series was presented earlier this year at the Television Critics Association to rave reviews, including praise from The Hollywood Reporter's TV Critic Tim Goodman who singled out "Rectify" as "the show I'm most excited to immerse myself in." Later that month, following a screening at the Sundance Film Festival, the Salt Lake Tribune's TV critic Scott Pierce described the series as "moody" and "engrossing." Details Magazine called Daniel Holden "the most compelling new character on TV."

Screenings at East Coast theater locations on April 16 will begin at 8:00pm ET/7:00pm CT; screenings at West Coast theater locations will begin at 7:00pm PT/8:00pm MT. The theater locations include the following:

· Brookline, MA - Coolidge Corner Theatre

· Bryn Mawr, PA - Bryn Mawr Film Institute

· Seattle, WA - Siff Cinema

· Salt Lake City, Utah - Tower Theater

Also starring in "Rectify" alongside Aden Young (Killer Elite, The Tree) as Daniel Holden are Abigail Spencer (Cowboys and Aliens, Oz the Great and Powerful), who portrays Amantha Holden, Daniel Holden's younger sister who believes completely in his innocence and has devoted her entire adult life to securing his release; J. Smith Cameron ("True Blood", Margaret) who plays Janet Talbot, Daniel's loving mother, who has been living with the impending death of her son for nineteen years, and who long ago had made peace with the loss of her son, giving up on any hope for his release; Luke Kirby (Take this Waltz, "Slings and Arrows") tackles the role of Jon Stern, Daniel's lawyer who works for an organization dedicated to exonerating the wrongfully convicted; Clayne Crawford (A Walk to Remember) portrays Ted Talbot, Jr., Daniel's stepbrother whom he had never previously met; and Adelaide Clemens (Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, The Great Gatsby) plays Tawney Talbot, Ted's kind-hearted wife; Bruce McKinnon (The Way Home) as Daniel's step father Ted Sr.; Jake Austin Walker (The Chaperone) as Daniel's half brother Jared; Michael O'Neill (Transformers) as Senator Roland Foulkes; and Hal Holbrook (Into the Wild) as Rutherford Gaines, Daniel's former attorney.

"Rectify" is part of Sundance Channel's continued expansion into scripted originals, which includes "Restless," the riveting two-part miniseries based on the novel by British author William Boyd depicting the story of a daughter who discovers that her mother was recruited as a spy during World War II, starring Hayley Atwell, Michelle Dockery, Charlotte Ramplingand just premiered earlier in December, as well as "Top of the Lake" from Jane Campion and starring Elisabeth Moss and Holly Hunter which premiered in March of 2013. Earlier this year, the network received Golden Globe and SAG(R) nominations for scripted mini-series "Appropriate Adult." The network's first scripted project, "Carlos", won the Golden Globe for Outstanding Mini-series in 2011.

About Art House Convergence

In 2005, the Sundance Institute Art House Project was created to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Sundance Institute by honoring Art House theatres. Twelve representative art house theatres from around the country were designated as Sundance Institute Art House Project theatres. Representatives from each theatre were invited to attend the festival to gain further insight into the scope and scale of independent cinema worldwide. This group realized the benefits of an ongoing dialogue within the art house community and in 2008 presented the first Art House Convergence, an industry educational program designed to empower and inform independent cinemas nationwide. Now a membership organization governed by a leadership committee of peers, the growth of the Art House Convergence and its development of research, surveys and year round communication among art house theaters affirm that the organization has evolved into a leading national resource for the support of independent film and the promotion of film culture in local communities.
