OXYGEN'S CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED DOCU-SERIES "I'M HAVING THEIR BABY" RETURNS WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12 AT 10 PM ET/PT
Oxygen Media Revisits Birth Mothers From Season One in Web-Series Launching Sunday, May 12
NEW YORK - April 29, 2013 - Oxygen Media premieres season two of the authentic and powerful docu-series "I'm Having Their Baby" on Wednesday, June 12 at 10 PM ET/PT, providing an intimate and emotional look at adoption by telling the too-often untold story through the eyes of the birth mother. The hour-long series documents a range of poignant, personal stories of women struggling with an unplanned pregnancy and ultimately deciding whether or not to place their baby in the hands of another family. This season delves deeper into the lives of birth mothers entering the adoption process, their family and friends affected by their decision and in some cases the potential adoptive couples. On Wednesday, May 29, the network will offer a pre-linear premiere of an upcoming episode on VOD, Oxygen.com, Hulu.com, iTunes, Amazon, Microsoft, Google Play, Vudu, Sony and mobile.
The premiere episode features Tory, a 23 year old mental health technician who lives in Goshen, IN with her three-year old son Bentley. She fears she cannot properly support another child on her own and worries about the stability of her relationship with Mike, her boyfriend of two years. After signing over his paternal rights, Mike regrets his decision and has an emotional confrontation with the potential adoptive father. The second story features Sharanda, a 30-year-old from Dallas, TX who lives with her boyfriend Jeremy and four children. She worries that he will change his mind about placing the baby for adoption, but wants to do what's best for her children and is already struggling to provide for the family.
Beginning Sunday, May 12, Oxygen.com will roll out a follow-up web series featuring five of the birth mothers from season one of "I'm Having Their Baby." The short-form videos will focus on their life after adoption, how they are handling their decision and their current relationship with the adoptive families.
"I'm Having Their Baby" garnered a strong first season, becoming the network's highest rated new series of 2012, averaging 806,000 total viewers, according to Nielsen. This marked double-digit growth up 29 percent compared to the same time period last year. In addition, Oxygen ranked as a Top 5 cable network among women 18-34 in the time period for the entire season.
The series is produced by Hud:sun Media with Michael Rourke and Bryn Freedman as executive producers.
