2013 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship on ESPN Networks Begins Sunday with NCAA Selection Show
Will combine to air all 15 men's games
ESPNU will exclusively unveil the 16-team bracket during the hour-long 2013 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship Selection Show Presented by Northwestern Mutual on Sunday, May 5, at 9 p.m. ET. Host Anish Shroff and analysts Quint Kessenich and Paul Carcaterra will provide breakdown of the field and tournament predictions, along with interviews with select head coaches.
During their college careers, Kessenich (Johns Hopkins) and Carcaterra (Syracuse) both played in four NCAA Championships and each won a national title with their respective teams.
A live phone interview is planned with NCAA Committee Chairman Jim Siedliski, who will discuss the bracket and the process behind each team's berth. Live phone interviews are also planned with several of the coaches from the expected tournament field, including Bill Tierney (Denver) and John Desko (Syracuse), as well as the coach from the top seeded team.
ESPN networks will provide exclusive coverage of all 15 games of the NCAA Championship for the seventh straight year. Coverage will be across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN3 and WatchESPN beginning Saturday, May 5, and concluding with the national title game on Monday, May 27. The women's championship weekend - beginning Friday, May 24, with the national semifinals - will be shown on ESPN3, followed by the title game on Sunday, May 26, on ESPNU and WatchESPN.
ESPN's top lacrosse commentating team will again be in position throughout the NCAA Championship, led by veteran play-by-play voice Eamon McAnaney, along with analyst Kessenich and sideline reporter/analyst Carcaterra.
Also joining ESPN's early-round coverage are analysts Ryan Boyle (three-time Princeton All-American), Mark Dixon (Johns Hopkins midfielder), Ryan Flanagan (North Carolina defenseman) and Matt Ward (Tewaaraton trophy winner and Virginia attackman). Calling game action will be Joe Beninati, Mike Corey and Booker Corrigan.
