W. KAMAU BELL WELCOMES "ARCHER" STAR AISHA TYLER TO "TOTALLY BIASED" MAY 16
New York, NY - May 10, 2013 - Aisha... Aiiiisha... AISHA!!! W. Kamau Bell welcomes Archer's own "Lana Kane," aka Aisha Tyler as his guest Thursday, May 16 @ 11:00pm ET/PT, on Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell.
Aisha Tyler is co-host of CBS's Emmy-nominated The Talk and is the voice of "Lana Kane" on FX's hit animated series Archer. She will appear this summer as the new host of Whose Line Is It Anyway?, returning to the CW with the original cast and Tyler in the role formerly held by Drew Carey. Her successful podcast, Girl on Guy, was chosen as a best new comedy podcast of 2011 by iTunes, where it has over 6 million downloads. Tyler's latest book "Self Inflicted Wounds: Heartwarming Tales of Epic Failure," is a series of hilarious essays based on an element of the podcast and due out from Harper Collins on July 9.
Tyler is the latest in a growing roster of stars who have visited Totally Biased to share their views, including Don Cheadle, David Alan Grier, George Takei, Wanda Sykes, John Oliver, Tom Morello, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and journalists Rachel Maddow, Matt Taibbi and Dave Zirin.
Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, from Bell and Executive Producers Chris Rock, Chuck Sklar and Keri Smith Esguia, stars standup comedian W. Kamau Bell as he hilariously dissects politics, pop culture, race, religion, sex and the media from his own unique point of view. The show is a mix of Bell's commentary, live guests, sketch comedy and taped segments. A half-hour series, Totally Biased is produced by FX Productions and is shot in New York City before a live studio audience.
This September, with the launch of FXX, Totally Biased will go daily, with 130 new original episodes, airing Monday through Thursday nights at 11:00 PM ET/PT, with Best of the Week compilation episodes Sunday nights at 11:00 PM ET/PT.
W. Kamau Bell, recently declared by The New York Times to be "the most promising talent in political comedy in many years," is one of the fastest rising socio-political comics in the United States. A founding member of the stand-up comedy collective "Laughter Against the Machine," Bell is also co-host of The Field Negro Guide to Arts & Culture podcast with Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid. His recent stand up album, Face Full of Flour, was named one of the Top 10 Best Comedy Albums of 2010 by iTunes and Punchline Magazine. Bell is best known for his critically acclaimed solo show "The W.
