ANATOMY OF VIOLENCE, THE (CBS/20th; W: Alex Gansa, Alexander Cary & Howard Gordon; D: Mark Pellington) - The Eye has passed on the drama pilot, about a criminal psychologist (Skeet Ulrich) with an expertise in sociopaths who partners with a young Philadelphia detective (Amber Tamblyn) with whom he shares a conflicted past. David Harewood also starred in the hour, from Howard Gordon's Teakwood Lane banner. (Deadline.com)
GAFFIGAN (CBS/Sony; W: Jim Gaffigan & Peter Tolan; D: TBA) - The comedy pilot - about a husband and wife (Jim Gaffigan, Mira Sorvino) trying to raise their five kids in a New York two-bedroom apartment - may undergo reshoots for a potential midseason order at the network. Christian Barillas and Tongayi Chirisa also starred in the single-camera project. (Deadline.com)
JACKED UP (CBS/Sony; W: Greg Malins; D: Fred Savage) - The Patrick Warburton-led comedy - about a beloved, recently retired baseball player who finds that adjusting to retirement isn't as easy as he thought it'd be - won't be heading to series at the Eye. The multi-camera project, from the studio-based Happy Madison Productions, also starred Missi Pyle, Rob Huebel, Tyne Daly and Ziah Colon. (Deadline.com)
MCCARTHYS, THE (CBS/Sony; W: Brian Gallivan; D: Fred Savage) - The project - about a sports-crazed Irish-Catholic family that shares a three decker house in Boston and the one member, Ronny (Jake Lacy), that dares to move out on his own - won't be getting a fall order from the Eye. Producer Sony Pictures Television however is in talks to undergo some reshoots for future consideration. Jack McGee, Jacki Weaver, Jessica Chaffin, Jimmy Dunn and Joey McIntyre also starred. ORDAINED, THE (CBS/CTS; W: Lisa Takeuchi Cullen; D: R.J. Cutler) - The drama - about the son of a Kennedy-esque family (Charlie Cox) who leaves the priesthood and becomes a lawyer to prevent his politician sister from being assassinated - is another project that won't be getting a series order at the network. The cast also included Audra McDonald, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Hope Davis, Jorge Garcia, Nestor Serrano and Sam Neill. (Deadline.com)
SECOND SIGHT (CBS/CTS; W: Gerald Cuesta & Michael Cuesta; D: Michael Cuesta) - The Jason Lee-led hour - about a New Orleans detective suffering from Azoors Syndrome, an ocular eye disorder that saddles him with regular hallucinations but also opens up his subconscious in a way that aids his job - didn't make the cut for series at the Eye. Said drama also starred Christina Cole, Derek Luke, Erik Jensen, Jill Scott, Kim Dickens and Madison Moellers. (Deadline.com)
SUPER CLYDE (CBS/CTS; W: Greg Garcia; D: Michael Fresco) - The single-camera comedy - about a meek, unassuming fast food worker (Rupert Grint) who decides to become a "superhero" for the downtrodden after inheriting his uncle's fortune - won't be receiving a series commitment from the Eye. Justine Lupe, Laura Catalina Ortiz, Stephen Fry and Tyler Labine also starred. (Deadline.com)
SURGEON GENERAL, THE (CBS/CTS; W: Samuel Baum; D: Rod Lurie) - The drama - about a fictional Surgeon General of the United States (Jason Isaacs) and the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps - likewise won't be going to series at the network. Said cast also featured Anna Deavere Smith, Beth Riesgraf, Christopher Thornton, Katherine McNamara, Kathryn Morris, Miguel Sandoval, Mike Colter, Paul McCrane and Sean Astin. (Deadline.com)
SURVIVING JACK (FOX/Warner Bros.; W: Justin Halpern & Patrick Schumacker; D: Victor Nelli) - Alex Kapp Horner is departing the recently ordered comedy, about a man becoming a dad (Christopher Meloni), as his son (Connor Buckley) is becoming a man in 1990s Southern California. She played mom Joanne in the single-camera project, which also stars Claudia Lee, Kevin Hernandez and Tyler Foden. No reason for her exit was given. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Oscar nominee Angela Bassett and Tony winner Patti LuPone have both landed roles on "American Horror Story: Coven," the franchise's third incarnation (@MrRPMurphy).
