LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- CBS's annual upfront press briefing saw a few additional pieces of news about today's schedule announcement:
-- In addition to a new home, the Tuesday-bound "Person of Interest" will have a new cast member: Sarah Shahi, whose Samantha Shaw character was introduced this past season.
-- While "Mike & Molly" is being held until midseason, that's not stopping it from doing a full season. "We do have 22 episodes ordered," CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler revealed. "It's a show that we love."
-- "Hostages" will run for 15 episodes starting in the fall and go through January, after which "Intelligence" will take over the Monday, 10:00/9:00c slot. CBS Primetime Senior Executive Vice President Kelly Kahl added that "Hostages" will air "nearly consecutively with maybe a break, one quick break over the holidays."
-- "When we get back to LA we'll probably have other conversations," Tassler said about additional pickups. "We may have other conversations when we get back... the most important thing is what we're presenting to the advertisers this afternoon."
-- As for "NCIS: Red" specifically, Tassler said, "Having 'NCIS' and 'NCIS: LA,' those are very, very valuable assets to our company. And in doing a third installment you're going to be protective of that brand so we'd love to do it and try it again. Maybe we will. Like I said, protecting those assets is really important."
