NBC SPORTS GROUP NOMINATED FOR FIVE PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS FOR LONDON OLYMPICS

Opening Ceremony Earns Nominations for Outstanding Directing, Lighting, Editing and Special Class Programs

STAMFORD, Conn. - July 18, 2013 - NBC Sports Group has been nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards for its coverage of the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics. The nominations were announced today by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in Los Angeles, Calif. The winners will be announced by the Academy on Sunday, September 22.

Following are the Primetime Emmy nominations for NBC Sports Group's coverage of the 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony:

· Outstanding Art Direction for Variety or Nonfiction Programming

· Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special

· Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Variety Special

· Outstanding Picture Editing for Short-Form Segments and Variety Specials

· Outstanding Special Class Programs

NBC Sports Group's coverage of the 2012 London Olympics was watched by more than 217 million Americans on the networks of NBCUniversal, making it the most-watched event in U.S. television history. NBC's coverage of the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics was the most-watched for a Summer Games on record with 40.7 million average viewers. The Opening Ceremony on NBC earned a 21.0/37 national rating/share, the best for a non-U.S. Summer Olympics ever.
