TYRANT (FX/Fox 21; W: Craig Wright; D: David Yates) - Mehdi Dehbi and Moran Atias are the first to be cast in the drama pilot, about an unassuming American family - Barry, Molly and their kids - drawn into the workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation. Dehbi is set as Abdul, "a handsome young man assigned to keep Barry's teenaged son Sammy out of trouble"; while Atias will play Leila, "the stunning, elegant and intelligent wife of Barry's older brother Jamal and strong mother of Ahmed, the bridegroom." Production begins later this year in Morocco. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - USA is reportedly mulling a spin-off or follow-up movie for "Burn Notice" featuring Bruce Campbell's Sam Axe and Coby Bell's Jesse Porter (TVGuide.com); Disney Channel will wrap its Zendaya-led comedy "Shake It Up" this fall after 78 episodes while the actress is set to star in an untitled original movie for the network based on the book "Boys Are Dogs" (Deadline.com); Parminder Nagra has joined the cast of NBC's "The Blacklist" as Margot Malik, "a smart and strong FBI agent who befriends Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) and takes on a mentor role" (Deadline.com); actress Anne Heche has inked a first-look producing deal with Universal Television (Deadline.com); "Grey's Anatomy" executive producers Tony Phelan and Joan Rater have closed a two-year overall deal with CBS Television Studios, which will begin next summer (Deadline.com); Rose McIver has been cast as Tinkerbell on "Once Upon a Time" (EW.com);
