FOMO (FOX, New!) - Ian Edelman ("How to Make It in America") has sold a potential comedy at the network about "the lives of people in a constant state of FOMO (fear of missing out): stuck in a job they don't want, a group of young life insurance brokers search for deeper meaning outside of their cubicles." Ruben Fleischer is also on board to executive produce the project - which has a penalty attached - via his 20th Century Fox Television-based claudeismydog banner with the company's Heather Petrigala producing. MARRY ME (NBC, New!) - "Happy Endings" creator David Caspe has snagged a pilot production commitment from the Peacock for a new single-camera comedy about "a young couple who get engaged, something they quickly realize is harder than it looks." Sony Pictures Television is behind the half-hour with Seth Gordon ("The Goldbergs") attached to direct. Said duo will likewise executive produce alongside Jamie Tarses via her studio-based FanFare Productions. (Deadline.com)


STUCK (FOX, New!) - Alexandra Rushfield ("Parks & Recreation") has snagged a put pilot commitment from the network for a single-camera comedy about "a stuck in a rut middle-aged woman who works at a bank and gets her stuck in childhood daughter a job there where they help each other to get unstuck." The half-hour is set up at Warner Bros. Television with Rashida Jones and Will McCormack of the studio-based Le Train Train Productions executive producing alongside Rushfield. (Deadline.com)


SURVIVING JACK (FOX/Warner Bros.; W: Justin Halpern & Patrick Schumacker; D: Victor Nelli, Jr.) - Rachael Harris has joined the cast of the midseason comedy, about a man becoming a dad (Christopher Meloni) as his son (Connor Buckley) is becoming a man in 1990s Southern California. She'll play their wife/mother Joanne in the single-camera project, which she'll succeed Alex Kapp Horner. Claudia Lee, Kevin Hernandez and Tyler Foden also star. (Deadline.com)


TRANSPARENT (A.K.A. UNTITLED JILL SOLOWAY PROJECT) (Amazon; W/D: Jill Soloway) - Jeffrey Tambor and Gaby Hoffman are the first to be cast in the comedy pilot, about Mort (Tambor) who "gathers his three adult kids - Ali (Hoffman), Sarah and Joshua - for a talk about the future, but everyone is shocked to learn that it's not a financial inheritance at stake, but rather the complex legacy of a secret life as a transgender." Soloway wrote and will direct the half-hour using much of the same team from her latest feature, Afternoon Delight. Tambor is still under option for fellow Amazon pilot "Onion News Empire," which remains under consideration. (Deadline.com)


TYRANT (FX/Fox 21; W: Craig Wright; D: David Yates) - Jordana Spiro ("The Mob Doctor") has booked a role on the drama pilot, about an unassuming American family drawn into the workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation. She'll play Dana, "the wife to Justin Kirk's John Tucker and with whom she works at the American Embassy as a cultural attache." The project's ensemble also includes Ashraf Barhom, Mehdi Dehbi, Moran Atias, Salim Daw and Sibylla Deen. (THR.com)


UNTITLED DANA CALVO PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Dana Calvo ("Made in Jersey") is developing a new drama at the Alphabet set in Miami and "follows an unorthodox detective and his methodical new female partner as they solve cases that only seem to happen in the neon wilds of one of America's most eclectic and vibrant cities." Said effort is set up at ABC Studios with Shondaland's Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers also executive producing. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED KEN MARINO/ERICA OYAMA PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Ken Marino and Erica Oyama have sold a single-camera comedy to the network - to star Marino - about "a couple who are working on their American Dream, a couple who support each other, inspire each other, are madly in love, drive each other crazy, build a company from the ground up and blend their employees and children into one big happy family." The untitled project has a penalty attached and is based on the lives of Sam Calagione, founder of the popular Dogfish Head Brewery, and his wife/business partner, Mariah. Sony Pictures Television-based Olive Bridge Entertainment is behind the half-hour with Will Gluck and Richie Schwartz executive producing alongside said duo. (Deadline.com)


WORLD WAR III (FOX, New!) - David Hayter (Watchmen) is spearheading a potential event series at the network in which "a perfect storm of world events places us in the center of a global battle which may bring the world as we know it to an end." FX Productions and Thinkfactory Media are behind the project, with the latter's Leslie Greif executive producing alongside Hayter. (Deadline.com)
