Investigation Discovery Achieves 100th Episode Milestone of Signature Newsmagazine "On the Case with Paula Zahn"
Investigation Discovery's signature long-form journalism franchise, ON THE CASE WITH PAULA ZAHN, airs its centennial episode on Sunday, August 18 at 10/9C, making it the first ID program to achieve this benchmark.
Hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist Paula Zahn, ON THE CASE brings viewers to the forefront of Zahn's quest for truth and justice. Over the course of eight seasons, Zahn has traveled the country to personally interview people directly touched by fascinating crime investigations, resulting in riveting interviews that reveal the raw emotion each tragedy has left behind.
As one of Investigation Discovery's first original series, ON THE CASE premiered in 2009 and was the first program to have an episode hit a 1.0+ HH rating for the network. The series continues to be one of ID's flagships, with 6 consecutive full season-over-season gains for P2+ and HH delivery with each season beating its last. The most recent full season (#7) was the series' best season yet for P2+ (937k) and HH delivery (779k).
In the 100th episode, Zahn examines the Mooselake, Minnesota, kidnapping of 19-year-old Katie Poirier, who was violently attacked while working her late-night job at a local convenience store. After reviewing 1,960 tips, it would be a NASA astrophysicist and a baseball legend that helped to finally break the case and bring Poirier's abductor to justice. "Tip 1960" airs Sunday, August 18 at 10PM E/P.
ON THE CASE WITH PAULA ZAHN is produced by Scott Sternberg Productions and Weinberger Media for Investigation Discovery.
